RBK warranty?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone delt with Reebok and their warranty process? I just broke my 7K stick 2 days after the warranty expired. I sent them an email and I am waiting for a reply back. Thanks for the help.

For what its worth, the stick has a great feel but if it breaks after 1 month, I think I will buy Easton again.

Read on the shaft...30 DAY

Exactly! There is no manufacturer who makes a stick that is guaranteed to last longer, they all break, some in 1 day, some in 2 yrs. There are so many variables. I went and watched the local HS team play the other nite. Every player who got a penalty launched their stick like a missle into the box about 10' before they got to the box. So, the next day when they play, they'll be whining about how their stick broke "prematurely". IMO, no stick should have a warranty. Seeing how they are abused, both on and off the ice. Slashing at the JR and HS level is ridiculous.

The refs must be nicer there, that's usually good for at least an extra 2 from me.

It was the poor ref'ing that let the game get out of hand. They weren't calling the extra penalties. As a result the game ended in a bench clearing brawl. Three coaches from 1 team fired permanently, one charged with assualt on a player, 14 players suspended for season on that team (team season over), 6 on the other for 1 game. All I could say throughout the whole game was "ca-ching" seeing the $$$ from all the sticks that had to be replaced. :D

I guess its job security for you LHS owners. I had an Easton Synergy for 2 years before it broke.

You mean the 4K isnt able to be warrantied? He had the stick for 3 days and the 2nd time using it he took a wrist shot and it broke 6" from the fuse point.

Crap like Jimmy mentioned doesn't help the life of a stick at all, but I do think warranties are necessary, just the 30 days doesn't make much sense for me. As it stands, it's a 30 day guarantee, rather than a warantee. Make it 2 weeks, as most kids will have tried it enough to see if it's a manufacturers defect by then or not. I've had both broken OPS and defect breakages, and the defects all happened within the first skate or two.

- Side note, last game I player, one of their players got tossed, on his way out, threw his stick into the stands. This rink had mesh (like the NHL) along the stands, so it bounced off and came back onto the ice. He proceeded to stop at the gate, turn, give everyone the finger, and slam the door. Here's the kicker, no extra penalties as neither ref saw it :D

Well seeing how it was a defect,I think they should warranty it.I highly doubt a wrist shot is misuse.

sorry to say bud but if you read the warranty sheet it says game use or misuse will not be covered under warranty. its not defective if it broke during a game in a shot. if the shaft de-laminated or the blade popped out thats defective but a stick breaking during a game. nope its not defective

I want to give props to RBk hockey as they are going to send me a new stick, EVEN after the warranty.

Overall, I love the feel of the stick but had recently bought an Easton Stealth for replacement. O well. Looking forward to the 06 stuff.

I've had very good luck with RBK customer service. I had my 8k skates for about 5 months when the ankle buckled in the one skate. The boots are only warrantied for 90 days. They had no problem replacing my skates for me. It took a few weeks after I sent my skates back to them, but got a brand new pair of pumps. Just keep after them.

I personally think its kind of rediculous that these companies have to dedicate a entire department for the sole purpose of warranties. nevermind the fact that when you do call them you have to wait on hold for 35 minutes. Hopefully the new steps the Big companies are taking with the warranty policies will greatly reduce the fraud and help speed up the turn around time for the people who truely broke their stick because of a "manufactoring defect" As long as they offer a 30 day warranty and customers hold on to their receipts they will always send that stick in for a new one for no matter what reason. Id say over 50% of the returns are caused by the general rough nature of hockey and not because of a "manufactoring defect". Ahhhhh, i remember the good old days of wood sticks when no one cared if they broke or not because if they did they just bought a new one. Now a days i have to deal with atleast one person walking through the door everyday with a broken OPS in hand. OVerall i think RBK, Easton, Bauer, etc do a great job handling their warranties and trying to make their customers happy. But sooner or later the line will have to be drawn as to what is truely a "manufactoring defect" and what is not.
