I live in New York, watch him every night. Without going into specifics he is dominating just about every game, making his teamates 10x better, and actually putting in some effort in his own end. There are times when he just takes the game over.

Seeing him night in and night out, his offensive skills are second to none. He can do it anyway. He's got the hands, the vision, the strength, shotpower, soft hands. I really think his greatest attribute is his strength. He just commands the boards, and you can't knock him off the puck. On the PP, he hangs onto the near boards, and the puck is just his stuck to his stick like it's glued there or something.

The new NHL rules have certainly helped his game. His hands and strength go basically unimpeded. But everyone has to remember, he's been putting up serious numbers for years, new NHL or not.

Now his backchecking...ehhh...He's definately lazy when it comes to his own end. Better than I've seen in the past, but not someone you want back there if you can help it.

I think he's back on the right track, he was not concentrating on his hockey enought last couple seasons. I remember hearing he had gambling problems (no joking) and he was even stated in the Tocchet scandal. Dunno if this could be a factor...

BIGTIME gambling problems. So bad he wasn't paying his taxes. The IRS investigated him and he wound up having to pay several hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes.

His gambling and tax problems were unrelated from what I read.

Nice to see him back on track this year. I don't think anyone could ever doubt his offensive skill, where his head was at is another story. He was dominant when he played in Pittsburgh and seems to have regained that form.

More you know what? Did the 3 guys do the babe or is that a Capitals thing? So, if Jags and his buddies bang some babes but nobody knows, is it ok? Kind of like the tree falling in the forest, does it still make a sound if nobody hears it fall?

BTW, Jagr is back to #1. Should be MVP, no contest. No Jagr, no NYR revival. Henrik would be there but getting bombarded without Jags and Co. to keep the puck in the other end and score.

Theo,

I'm not pointing the finger at those 3, only making a point.

1st line or 4th line, it doesn't matter who the player is. Try to find out which bars the NYR hang in after games. Watch them get pounded with brews, shots, etc. Watch the rink bunnies throw themselves at 1st line or 4th line. Then connect the dots, take off your rose colored glasses and realize they are only human with testosterone drives as big as their egos. I have seen this whole scenario play out in Montreal bars many times with guys on the Canadiens. Do yourself a favor on this snowy Sunday, rent the movie "Youngblood" and then realize that a lot of it is true.

Its just the world we live in. These guys are just like you and me. You would do what they do if given the chance. They just happen to be hockey players. This stuff has been going on since they first gave out Lord Stanley's Cup!!

Much more would get out to the public? Yeah, that would be just the type of news any NHL team publicist would be putting in the game day media notes.

These "seroius offences" happened last night(Saturday night, remember) in every city across America and Canada. Some guys took advantage of girls after way too many drinks and did some "serious offences." Some of the guys were hockey players; pro players, minor league players, and beer league players. Some of the guys were just regular guys out to get laid. Its the world we live in. It doesn't make it right. Its very wrong. But it is happening.

As for the 3 musketeers in your photo, I don't care what they did or didn't do. As a matter of fact, I don't care what any of these guys do. Because if they do it and they get caught, they deserve all the punishment they get. "If you ain't got the time, don't do the crime."

Am I missing something here...did some NHL'ers get caught for rape?

Or does this go back to the Sweden incident last year? If so, what does it have to do with those three Rangers?

Yeah, I'm a bit confused too. I mean, I started this whole thing with the Euro Trash comment. And yes, Theo, that's a great Euro Trash pic. It's from NY Fashion Week. Poor Pruch, you can see his leg is all bandaged up or something cuz it's just sticking straight out, no bending. Lundquist is the worst Euro of the three with that pushed down, windswept comb-over hair he's rockin. Haha.

So what's this underrage story all about? What are the basic accusations?

When the hell did Theo become Kenneth Starr?

Theo, you were born at the wrong time, man. Salem circa 1692 could have really used you.

Are you talking about back in 91 or 92 when Dan Quinn of the Pens was raping some 19 yr old girl, and Mario Lemieux stood there and watched and didn't tell anyone?

This is taken from IMDB. I typed in Mario Lemieux, and clicked "show more". This piece was under the info section a little ways down...FYI, Dan Quinn was not on the Pens. He was on the North Stars at the time. He was on the Pens for several years before being traded to the MNSs. I'm guessing him and Mario had some drinks after a game, picked up this girl and the rest is hearsay...

Teammate Dan Quinn was arrested and charged with raping a 19 year-old woman in Minneapolis (MN) hotel room, an incident at which Lemieux and another teammate were allegedly present. The matter was dropped without going to trial. Lemieux and Quinn remain close friends. [November 1992]

Ok, I think we're gtting well off topic on this one and I'd rather stay away from turning into a gossip column.
