Which is going to be the better glove?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at the Warior Kingpin, BNH One90, and the Easton Stealth S9. Based on all the prior knowledge given about them and people that have used them, which one is gonna be the best glove? I wouldn't doubt they all won't be good, but whihc is the lightest, the most durable, easiest to move in, etc. I want to know stuff like that.

I think it's the Warrior King Pin because of his good protection. the ONE90 looks great but not a good protective at all... As for the Easton one, i didn't try it yet so I can't tell...

Sorry, although you work for MIA, you don't know what you are talking about with regard to the One90. Have you worn the glove in game play? I have worn the One90 gloves for 6 weeks in game play. The protection given by this glove is excellent. Gloves like this are not put on NHL players unless they give the best protection possible.

As for the original ?, all 3 models will satisfy your needs. Your final decision should rest with PP.

Exactly.

From what I have heard, they are all different fitting gloves also. They are all top end gloves and really I think it comes down to prefered fit and brand. What Darkstar has said in other posts, the one90 is a form-fitting glove. If the S9 follows suit for easton, it will be a bulky heavily padded glove and I haven't heard anything about warrior gloves, but from the looks I would guess it would fit like a Oakley Mace (tight around the fingers, loose® around the wrist).

tguidon:

Wait to try them on before you judge them.

The fit of those three gloves are not the same at all. IF you like tight gloves, go with the NBHs, I didn't like them because they were too tight for my liking. I have not seen the Stealth nor the Warrioir but I'm gessing the Warrior ones are going to be similar in fit to the Easton Pro gloves or the Eagle but will a little open at the top of them.

IMHO, an entry level pair of 452 tacks that fits is 10x better than a pair of Bauer XXX gloves that dont fit right.

If they dont fit correctly, you're not going to be protected the way they were designed to. Like skates, fit is everything.

Why doesn't anyone talk about the new CCM vector 10.0. Seems like a nice glove. Has anyone tried that?

I tried it but not during a hockey game. I have the impression that the fingers aren't large enough, and the glove is a bit too overdesigned but there are some good ideas on it.

I know the ONE90 fits really well but hey, take a close look at the foams and the shape of the cuff roll... I'm not sure you'd be well protected if you get a good slashing on your wrists...

As i said before, this is my personal opinion while looking and trying it, i didn't made researches about it...

Most of the gloves in NHL has absolutely nothing to do with the other retail one even if their the same model.... Right now, who's wearing the ONE90 in the nhl?

Naslund on Vancouver has been wearing the One90 since January. It has been documented in many posts here on MSH with photos. Check out the other One90 glove thread at the moment. There is a picture right there of Naslund wearing One90 gloves. A few players on the Kings have been wearing them as well. During the Olympics in February, I saw players on Team Finland wearing the One90 gloves. The One90 gloves are being used at the NHL level right now.

As for the foams used in the One90 they are very similar to the foam used in the S9. Both are extremely light foams that are incredibly hard. They do not compact on impact as some other softer foams will that require a plastic insert over the top as an anti-slash reinforcement.

Are your custom MIA gloves that are offered direct from MIA the same as the pro make ups? Do you lead the customer to believe they are the same? Just curious.....

Maybe a few of which you can "borrow."

Yeah, I also didn't like how the fingers were narrow.

I've only seen the Stealth and in my opinion the protection is decent for a retail glove. One problem I saw with them was the short fingers. That seems to be the trend in recent Easton gloves.

They've had that problem for a few years now.

I just want to make something clear, when I write something here, i'm talking in my own opinion, i'm not talking as a MIA Designer.

So my personal opinion would be that i expect the protection not to be really good... As I said before, I didn't tried them on ice. But I agree with you, their really comfortable.

Not at all.

If I say i like a glove, you'll say I want to borrow their ideas.

If I say I hate a glove, you'll say I'm jealous or something like this so I think i'll stop making comment about this thread...

You can say what you want...

I view people like Justin1933, Prenny207, SalmingUSA, SRI, DarkStar50, jimmy, JR, chadd, etc. for the companies they represent, whether they are manufacturer reps or retailers.

I would have had far more respect for you guys as a company if you came out with your own new ideas (I'm sure you'll claim to be the brain trust behind Eagle) and also, gone to the retailers and partnered up with them instead of selling direct. Seems like Warrior was able to. What about you guys? Just resting on the laurels of another company that you used to work for...how sad.

I'm sure you will claim that retailers don't want to deal with custom, however, many of us deal with custom goal on a day in, day out basis, which is FAR more difficult to deal with than custom players gloves.

But hey, what do I know?

I decided to update this thread since it's been about a month and I'm close to pre ordering. I also narrowed it down to the Warrior and One90. I've used a TPS Bionic glove and now and using a pair of Harrows. Which of those is similar to that fit? I think I mihgt swithc my mind and go with the Warriors now since I've seen how nice the Dolomite is.

heres a thought. how bout we stop asking which product is going to be the best... take your lazy A$$ to the store, and try them on yourself. I don't care what people respond with, it will be their opinion... its whats best for you, not whats best for everybody else. sorry... this doesn't just go for the starter of this thread, it goes for every "which is better" thread.

just my lil rant in this 90 degree heat

Even that's not available in most stores. Man just wait and try them both on. Gloves are a really personal thing and whatever you like most you should get.

I tried on the S9 the other day and I really liked the feel of them...until I held a stick. Then for some reasons they didn't seem to quite move how I wanted them to.

I also tried the One90, and I was impressed by it, but it felt too rough on the inside (too much glue???). But besides that, I just can't see myself getting used to a glove that form-fitting. But its all PP.
