Leafs VS Sabers

Recommended Posts

Personally, I think that the Peters golf swing was hilarious--made even more so because many Toronto fans are getting really mad at it. Sure, you might want to consider it to be 'classless', but then you'll probably consider ANY sort of victory celebration 'classless', from a soccer team jumping together in what looks like a big man orgy to the classic Lambeau Leap. Just my $0.02

It was classless because A. The act itself was classless B. Did it after backing down from every Leaf on the ice and C. it wasn't a celebration. What was he celebrating? The fact he was born with an extra chromosome?

I agree with the point that Peters looked like an ass because he had nothing to do with the overall success of the team. Donald friggin Brashear accomplished more this year than has Peters.

Peters was out there for only one reason, to make sure Tucker didn't leg whip anyone! Granted tucker can back up his dumbass moves, but that doesn't give him any right to figgin' leg whip Hecht. He purposly leg whipped him and I don't care what anyone says, it was intentional and it was illegal. You can put tucker in the lowest class there is, with Kasparitis. Both cheap hockey plays who intent to injure. Although I'd love to match up Tucker with McMorrow, for those of you who know who he is. Plays for th Amerks in Rochester for the AHL.

can some1 tell me what actually happened? i saw the gif but i dont know what he was swinging at.

there was some pushing infront of the leaf net, wiith peters, belak and a few others. Instead of just contining the pushing around, peters skates away and looks towards the leaf net doing his golf swing, because the leafs were now elimenated from the playoffs.

You've got to be kidding me

He didn't just skate away though. He acted like he wanted to fight, but was skating away pretending like he was going to do something waiting for the refs to step in. When he wanted to fight Ondrus a shift or two earlier he just jumped him.

after watchign video, peters and Belak, each of them wanted to go, belak wouldnt follow

Since when is it common in a fight for one guy to back away from another, yet still want to go? Last time I checked when you wanted to fight a guy, you skated in his general direction.

Didn't look like Peters was running away to me....that just looked like he was separating from the pack to have a little room to go.

Whether Peters has contributed to his teams success this year or not, he's had to put up with Domi and Tucker all year long the same as everyone else. If his team's moving on, he's entitled to throw some trash back at those two, as is everyone else wearing a Sabres jersey, IMO.

Domi - well, not much needs to be said. Tucker certainly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Kaspiritis. How many blatant knee on knee or attempted knee/knee has he made in the last month? At least three that I've seen, counting the missed elbow last week that resulted in a knee. He throws around potentially career ending shots. And, before it gets said, no, he is not the only one who does that, but he's the topic at hand, not the other fifty guys.

My $.02

Edited to add: After watching the video at Hockeyfights, I think Peters was moving to an open area. Belak practically skated to the ref.

Greetings from Buffalo,

I have to chime in on this one because I was in the hallway when Peety got tossed. At the time it was hilarious but as soon as he hit the tunnel he said "shit why the hell did I do that" Soon after he apoligized to everyone including the media. He's a good boy from St. Cats and did'nt mean any harm more than a joke. What is a joke is Tucker intentionally taking out Jochen Hecht arguably one of our top 3 guys, not even getting a suspension. Intent to injure Vs. a fake golf swing: you tell me what worse?

As far as a tough guy he would go toe to toe with Belak or anyone on TOR. If you dont believe me just find the video of Peety smoking McGratton and putting him out for a few weeks...

Thats my $.10

Take Care

I'd say 50% of the league is trying to hurt people when they check. Tucker felt he got elbowed and came back and did the same thing. The same thing which Kovalev wasn't suspended for. The knee was just bad luck.

I figured once Peters sat down he'd realize what happens. I heard that he appologized, but haven't seen it yet. I haven't had alot of time to watch the highlights.

I know i'm gonna make enemies here (leafs fans mostly) but that move was totally hilarious, i loved it. The fact that Peters didn't contribute in the Sabres sucess is not really important. A sabres fan could have made the move on TV and Leafs fan would have jump on him right away.

I think that move was great because it was silent but said it all: leafs miss the playoff this year, shame to them. It was not that bad: A cheap shot, racial/hateful comment, etc are a LOT worst than that.

i hope domi.. is smart enough to retire...

oh wait a second.. were talking about domi... i put domi and the word smart in the same sentence.. i must be crazy...

several times this season, where he was on the ice, when one of this team mates got rifled in the boards from behind.. and domi did nothing...

last nights ottawa game, eaves on ondrus..

and then the last pittsburgh game in pittsburgh, where cairns hit someone from behind, wellwood??

and all domi did was shove the guy around.. did nothing to stand up for his team mates...

for a guy that is supposed big on protecting his team mates, and paid well to protect his team mates... he's a joke...

i am sure someone from the leafs will remember it for next year...

Its sad really. Its like watching an old dog die. He knows what to do, he just cant do it anymore.

Wow after watching that how anyone can interprut that as backing down is beyond me. He sure as hell isnt scared to fight belak, becauswe as said b4 he's fought much tougher, he's clearly seperating fromt he pack so they can go and belak doesnt want to follow.

Because he waits until the linesman and skates behind him. He keeps talking while getting further away. He tried to fight earlier in the game, and he sure as hell didn't try to "get some space".
