3rd goal for edmonton goal or no goal?

Recommended Posts

Definately a goal, no doubt about it. The puck was in his chest and he got pushed in and the puck dropped in. Definately a goal.

MANNY, MANNY, MANNY!!!!! I love it!!!

Tottaly agree, it was goal. He was pushed in. And they showed the replay of the high stick and it was below the crossbar. Wicked game. Oilers all the way!!!!

The puck didn't hit his chest he abviously swept the puck in, and CBC showed a camera angle that proved that there was a kicking motion, but only showed it once.

CBC also showed an angle where the Detroit D (Lidstrom or Schneider) was controlling Hemsky's "kicking leg" as he swept the back of his knee. Then they showed where the puck was, his midsection, and showed another clip of the puck making contact with the supposed high stick. Argue about the high stick, I'm not sure, but he did not kick that puck into the net.

letter to the league:

gary bettman you suck. the refs suck may too many missed calls (both sides). and the 3rd goal should not have counted. because the puck was played with a high stick. clearly shown on the replay.

:D High stick questionable-but once the Detroit player touched it oh well.

Lidstrom pushed Hemsky to the net and as a result shoved the puck as well

GOOD NIGHT DEADWINGS

The reffing has been awful all series long, to both sides. Props to Stevie Y, but thank God another year of putting up with the ever irritating Chelios is over!

As far as the goal goes, it was a close call, but the right one. Whatever they show on TV does not matter as much as the footage that the head shed sees upstairs, and you can bet that with so much riding on the call that they didn't just guess at it.

deffinetly should have counted

he hit the puck beloew the shoulders and he didnt kick it

and the only reason why it looked like he kicked it in was because he got hit

The high stick doesn't matter. The ref didn't call it, and the replay doesn't show a good angle. Plus it went off a Detriot player, so the high stick call wouldn't have been made anyway. It was a goal.

I say it was a goal; to echo the others, high stick or not a detroit player touched it, and the puck hit him in the midsection.

GO OILERS!

I can't pick between them or San Jose

anybody else watching cbc think the guys calling the game where homers in the 3rd?

It's CBC, no real surprise. A Canadian team verse a team from the U.S., of course the CBC announcers are going to be homers. Not the worst homers I've heard. The Anahiem annoncers are worse.

No goal. He caught it in the body, held it and then kicked with his leg to make sure it went in. It looked like it went off his knee or shin as he dropped it.

There is no replay angle clear enought to say he kicked it in. We can see the feet motion but we can't see where the puck is. If you aren't 100% sure he kicked it in, it's a goal.

Now that I have seen the clip on TSN I have to say no goal. High stick by that other Oiler to start it off and then the rest is too blurry to really judge but from the motion it looked like he grabbed an then dropped the puck to a kicking motion.
