In Canada its 14 for learners which you have to have for atleast a year to get your licence. You can get a GDL licence when your 16 if you have held your learners for ayear. Then you have to wait two more years with your gdl and do another driving test to get your full licence

not all of canada.. BC has some pretty strict regulations. you have to be 16 to take the knowledge test to obtain your 'L' (can only drive with a parent) and now have to wait a full year until you can take a road test to take your 'N' (drive on your own but only one passenger).

oue is simalier to in NB. you can get your Learners permit at 16 then take drivers ed and have you full in 3 months or just wait 6 months and go for your road test. most people go with drivers ed it lowers your insurance and you get some good experiance.

In Ontario you answer two tests of 20 based on the book, double sided sheet, that gets you your G1 so you can learn with a parent or instructor. At this point you can take driver's ed, which allows you to go for your G2 road test in eight months, otherwise it is a year from when you got your G1. In another year you take another road test to get your full G.

i'm considering the driving course as it takes off 3 months... but the cost is a little steep, something like a grand i think.

I passed mine in Va and i though it was very easy, but then moved to NC and had to take it again in order to get a new licence. I passed, but they had some stupid questions. Did you know that when you pass someone in NC you are supposed to beep your horn before you pass them? <_<

It's worth it, you get your money back in the end by saving on insurance anyways. At least here you do.

in mi we have a strange system. at 14 years 8 months you can take drivers educatuion segment 1 and get your permit ( parent in the car ) then after 3 months of recieving your permit you go take drivers education segment 2. once you have had your permit for 6 months you can take your road test. once you have completed all of this and turned 16 you can get your graduated drivers liscence where you can drive with frineds or alone from 5am to midnight. then once you have your liscence for a year you get your operators liscence where you can drive whenever you want.

We're required to take driving classes in OH. But yeah, insurence does go down. It's only like $300 or something here

I'm having a hard time believing this.

"Why are you aresting me sir???"

"Don't act like you don't know. You didn't even beep your horn when passing this guy. Your getting a big ticket you smart ass."

Definately read the book, some information may not seem like common sense. For example.

"You are driving on a highway in the far right lane. Cars are merging from the offramp. Do you:"

A) Slow down

B) Keep a constant speed

C) Speed up

D) Stop completely

The answer is B.

that's not true SC, if you want to get your lisence before 18, you're required by the state of Ohio to take driving classes if you want to get your lisence before that.
