Fuel or S500

Recommended Posts

I was wondering about the new mission fuels. I was thinking about getting the 95xp but some people say its not worth it. Are the fuels good skates that are worth waiting for or should I just go for the s500 skate? I dont skate fast all the time but about once every shift I get one huge break. What should I get fuel 95xp or s500?

Wait until your LHS gets the Fuels and try them on. The S500s and the Fuels don't fit exactly the same way. Go with the one that fits better. There are also topics about the Fuels and they perform.

I just got hooked up with a demo pair of Fuel AG110s.....using them tonight and get to keep them for two weeks. I've only tried them on so far but they fit pretty good, lot's of padding and alot lighter than my V-12s.

I prefer the 500 to the 110. I've had 500s for about two years and 110s for six months.

Blues 91,

How much lighter then your Nikes?

Also how would you compare them to the Vapor line weight wise.

Honestly, the Nike V-12s are bricks compared to just about any other line of skates. I've also skated in 8090s which are probably just as light, if not lighter than

Vapor XXs, and the Fuels don't seem that much heavier than my 8090s. I played a

3on3 game in the Fuels last night and on the ice you don't really notice a difference

in weight between the Fuels and 8090s.

hey chad, have you had any problems with your 110's other then just fit. I know you said they dont fit like the s500's do and thats part of the reason why you dont like them, but have you had any other problems with the skates other then fit?

Yes, my left sole is pulling off and they are creasing in several places. As far as I know they are a normal retail model

are both your skates custom chadd? because you s500 are custom, and we expect them to last longer than a retail skate

My first pair of S500s were regular retail models and were fine once I reinforced the tendon guard after owning them for more than a year.

you would think for $500 a pair, top of the line skates wouldn't fall apart in less then a year.

Happened to original Graf G-series skates didn't it? New stuff has kinks that have to be worked out it seems.

yeah im waiting at least until june 15th when the free stick deal kicks in, but i hope that some more reviews start poping up on these skates. Dose anybody have any links or anything on peoples reviews or impressions of the skates? these threads keep coming up and Chadd is the only one with any first hand knowledge of the skates.
