Neal 41 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 Tough to pick between slapshot and the Chiefs, but I'd have to go with the Chiefs because it was a documentary and I played with a guy just like that Leveque goon.www.leschiefs.com
MLSman 22 Report post Posted January 14, 2007 cmon....I don't think it is even a close race. The movie starts off with the goalie displaying all of the penalties with his stick and beating the shit out of the interviewer....the part where the goalie is in the locker room sitting down and is still making saves after getting shelled with shots makes me piss in my pants...Slapshot hands down is one of the best comedic sports movies in history. Monty22 833 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Slapshot wins hands down, if for no other reason than Paul Newmans brown leather suit. I think it was from the Huggy Bear collection.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted January 17, 2007 Man, they let Probie into the country? It was funny. Let's just say his one line required more than one take....Actually, Probie was there with a bunch of ex-NHLers on Saturday at a charity ball hockey tournament at Down's View. The team that raised the most money played against the NHLers. Obviously, we all know that the only thing separating us from better players is skating ability. On solid ground, it would be pretty easy to outplay nearly fifty-year-old men.Wrong!Man, the old guys schooled the young'uns about 11-3, and the goalie for the NHLers was on a sled. (Paul Rosen won a gold medal for Canada in the Paralympics, although some lowlife stole the medal from virtually in front of him while he was gettng changed.) Slapshots aren't allowed, yet Bill Derlago scored five goals on snappers from thirty feet away. The Gouche was emceeing the event and commented that the young'uns goalie must have made the team by being the best fundraiser.

At the end they did the plug for Bulldogs tix rather than Chiefs (obv.)...well done too....they did it pretty much word for word except...."Stupid English PiG with no brains..." they just said "...Stupid guy with no brains"
wallin2199 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2007 Wow, the original Miracle on Ice movie was on Versus tonite and you guys really weren't lying. The hockey scenes were so badly done and I won't even go into the acting. 25 years later I would say Disney's version was just a tad better

Battleship Kelly 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2007 Has anyone seen "In the Crease"? I thought it was a good documentary movie for the low budget. Focuses alot on the kids and their parents, along with their sacrafices to play on a travel hockey in CA.Miracle gets a vote at the top of my list. The Ducks for kids, my 7 year old says he prefers 2.Slapshot has some nostalgia for me, having played games in the War Memorial, too much "Old-Time Hockey" for today's player.Jeff

Oberon 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2007 Slapshot, hands down. Miracle was good, though there were some things that threw me off. I still vividly remember watching those games, so seeing them re-enacted was tough. Also, Herb Brooks was such a part of life around here that I was conscious throughout the whole movie that it was not him on the screen. Kurt Russell did a good job, though.I enjoyed Youngblood when I was a teen, but couldn't watch it now.I have never seen any of the Mighty Ducks movies, though my brother-in-law was a skating double in those that had rollerblading scenes.
