W.Heinle 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 I also really like Canada Russia '72. I thought the CBC did a great job on that one as well, capturing the general atmosphere around the series.
DCott 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 Sudden Death is the greatest hockey movie ever.
jimsandwich 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2008 Youngblood is the best hockey movie. Slapshot is halarious, but does have some slow points. The newest addition is THE TOURNAMENT. It is a BBC production of crazy hockey parents. It is excellent. Also, the ROCKET. Very well done.
ultraman7k 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2008 ahh the tournament...haven't seen that in years. btw, I think you mean it was produced by CBC...anyone remember the tv show Powerplay a few years back? I think Don Cherry guest starred on one episode.
SidCaeser 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 My son picked up Batman & Robin for $.50. There is a little hockey scene in it. Clearly, Batman popping up the Bat Blades makes it the coolest hockey movie.

AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 Anyone seen "No Sleep Til Madison"? I made the mistake of purchasing that one. I watched it with a few teammates and we ended up having to shut it off.. oyI Netflix'ed it... real, real bad.. I made it through like 20 minutes. I'm a big fan of Gaffigan too, so that's why I grabbed it. Bleh. Thanks to Netflix on XBox Live, I just watched Mystery Alaska, and National Lampoon's Pucked with Jon Bon Jovi... JBJ goes into credit card debt financing a women's hockey league. I expected a complete turd, and struck gold. Not as bad as the Love Guru. And as I type this response, I'm watching some Sudden Death. I love the Netflix/XBox Live combo.

cxo 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 http://www.hollywoodnorthreport.com/article.php?Article=3767 Oh God Fox ruining everything again if Fox News wasn't bad enough.I don't know, it's too bad it won't be hockey related any longer, but it may at least still be funny. Anything has to beat FOX's current lineup.

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted January 23, 2010 So, last night...we had a game against a team of players from Scotland and Austrailia. There was an older gentleman there really early. He had a Chiefs hat and jacket on...and someone says "He's the goalie from Slapshot". He chatted with a few people but was really kinda quiet. He didn't play...he was just kinda there. After the skate...I hear a few more people talking about him..."no, really...it's the goalie from slapshot". Turns out...it WAS Yvan Barrette. I guess he knows the guy who arranges these hockey trips. I went out to get an autograph and picture....and he pulls out a bunch of screenshots from the movie and signs it:"Hey Matt, trade me right f**king now! Denis Lemieux #1 Yvan Barrette"I got a pic too...but my buudy has to e-mail it to me still.*L* My GF said I was beaming when I showed her the auto. She hasn't seen Slapshot...so she doesn't get it...if all goes well...she'll see it tonight.
