JR I am sure that is true but you know if they sold a pair of skates before the launch there would be problems. Not to mention why would a rep sell his stock?

Of course there are display skates as all the stores that will e selling them have. No store has them to sell though.

We were one of the first companies to test them as we did our Hockey Equipment School before all the rest except one.

Well, I was thinking about it this morning, not sure if it was the pro or retail rep. Needless to say, I wouldn't pay full price for a sample boot.

Yah i would say the same BUT JR when i called the place they said they didnt have any and havent gotten any in? That not sound funny to you?

They did say they were expecting some next week. thats when everyone one else is getting them.

Final product to retail is always different than samples. I see a few changes in One90 gloves I received for the shop this week that are different than the sample pair I have been using. So a customer pays full retail for a sample with final changes still to come and thinks he has the product. Oh well... Also, not all samples get final changes but some do. Only the shop guys would ever know what the vendor did to change the product that hits retail.

Another very good point.....hence wait for the real thing is I guess the learned thing here!

reps usually have to buy their samples...and many will sell them to shops or through different avenues...I've been to an office that has a stockroom of just past samples and if you make the right offer...it can be yours pretty easy..

if the shop is changing their tune, probably got a phone call from someone...or are keeping the samples on a bro level now

Well yes i do know that but seeing as the season hasnt yet begun and the stock hasnt arived in the stores i would assume that they were to keep there samples till such a date....its always been the case in the past...just seemed weird that all of a sudden it changed for just one store in the middle of Florida?? I mean the guy could have sent them to Canada and got 1000 a pair? Just doesnt seem right but hey,......thats Florida for you...LOL (lived and worked there 5 years...)Go SunDevils..oy ha there gone...LOL

anyway, does anyone know anything about the 70's?...mainly meaning price, and when the hell they are coming out (because when he looked it up they weren't getting any 70's in on the 16th, just the 10's, 30's, 50's, and a few one90's)

My LHS has them on for 379 539 CAN$

They got them a while ago.

They're brutal though. If you're gonna spend that kinda money on a skate, go to the one90s. its a night and day difference performance-wise.

and what exactly is the quantifiable difference in performance between the two skates??? one of which essentially was the high end well received 8090 supreme the last 2 years....obviously you have spent time on each and can break it down to overall power output in watts for us??

Wow that seems like a major leap in price...the 50's are going to sell locally for $179 (and ive seen them already online at a few places for around 190-200), anyway my point being that's a huge jump from under $200 to I believe over $400, especially if it's true that the 70 is basically like a slightly newer 8090 instead of a somewhat stripped down one90.

It's both.

Yes, the 50 is a significant drop. Very comparable to how the xx90 line was - not a skate in between, however, the 8090s were at a very respectable price point.

You may think I'm nuts but your post kind of confused me.

Can you just give me a run down from your perspective on the 70?
