Tverdovsky's shin pads

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what kind of shinpads he has? It looks like they have no hyperextension guard just below the knee cap. It looks like a lot of NHLers have these.

When he was on the Devils a few years ago, I was in the locker room after a game. He was slow to get changed, most players get out of their gear very quickly so the equipment guys can go to work cleaning up. He had on Jofa shins then. He probably still wears them now.

His skates look like canoes.

The gap between the eyelets is enormous, I can't skate in a boot like that.

He used to play summer hockey with us in TO him and Kovalenko. The Jofa pad is right but he always does that with all skates be doesnt even tie them just a little pull on each one but there barley done up. He reason back at home they were always given skates to big so wearing them tight to his foot bothers him.....and a few years back he was a pretty decent player.....

He was a really standout payer with his shot but then when with the mighty ducks, right before getting traded to new jersey, he was hurt. I think he broke his shoulder or something...but he is all down hill now..pretty sad.

I'm pretty sure he lite it up in Russia during the lockout. If the Canes didn't have such a good PP he'd be in every game

But retail Jofa/Rbk shinpads I've seen look like this

Staal

with the hyperextension guard right under the knee cap

Tverdovsky's don't have that

So they're weird Jofas or something.

It is too bad to see him sitting. When he came in at the end of game two I was surprised. I thought he wasn't playing because he was hurt.

Do you mean the spread across the laces?

Yes, it's one of the main reasons I haven't liked most Bauer skates lately. I have a thick foot and it feels like I'm only wearing half a boot.

Yeah i have a pair like that..Old Jofa SG 3190's i think...Too big for me though (17inch)..they have the large rounded knee cap and like mentioned before, no "Hyper X" guard on them..i think Modano wears similar shin guards too..

Look at the spot right below the knee cap of the shin pad. That's the where you can see the difference.

Take a look at Daniel "I don't pay child support" Briere's Easton's. He doesn't even lace through the bottom eyelets. It looks really wierd.
