JMart10 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Me and my friend are dying our holders soon. We got the idea for it a real long time ago but didn't know exactly how to do it until a few months ago. We got like 8 pairs of holders to test our dying skills on just no money to get them all removed off the boots, haha. Kinda disappointed though cuz i had the same idea of doing a white to red fade cuz thats my teams colors. Maybe i'll do black fading to red or vice versa. What do you put the dye in when you dip the holders in? I was thinking of just using a bucket or something like that. Oh and do you use liquid or powdered dye? willy0314 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I know if I ever did something like that, i'd break a holder the first time I played with it, and i'd be stuck with one white holder and one crazy colored one.

GH_ID 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 First skate with them this morning. It holds up pretty well! But the black and white version on the one90's are going to stay nicer longer cause you can see white plastics chips emerging from the holders.I really liked the look of the all black skate. skatedoctor 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 Daft thing here, but can you cover the 'dye job' in a coat of clear laquer to help stop chipping etc?
GH_ID 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 Nope, once it cuts in the plastic to deep there's no going back, but I'm happy with the result.
hockeyshmockey10 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 WOW, those ended up looking great installed. i also have the 9k's and i held the holders against the skate and it looked like a sick combo. thanks for doing business!

Miike 1 Report post Posted August 9, 2006 anybody else find this the gayest shit theyve ever seen on a pair of skates? You're not the only one. I don't think its worthwhile seeing how its on there for a few skates then chips off.
