Should I Go to a Fiona Apple Concert?

A girl friend of mine invited me to go. Its two and a half hours away. She told me she would pay for my ticket, gas, and the hotel room. So I could basically go on this trip for free. I've never heard anything by Fiona, I've only heard her name. I'm pretty sure I won't like her. Is it worth two days of my life to go?

Fiona Apple's music is slower tempoed, but well done. Some of the songs are almost bluesy.

The main question is whether you think you'd want to have more dates with this girl. If the answer is yes, then it's a no-brainer that you go -- just like she might go to a movie with you that she doesn't really want to see. If the answer is no, then do the right thing and tell her to save her money.

I've gotta laugh while reading these-My wife and I went and saw Ms. Apple a couple years ago-It was hilarious-Obviously she couldnt hang with the altitude in Denver and would have to sing whilst taking in O2 from a tank that they had poorly hidden. She can jam though when she catches her breath (about like the beer leaguers)

But what was really funny beside the fact she was having trouble hitting the really high notes (sounded like you stepped on the cats tail) was tripping on the crowd-The die hard Apple fans were something else..........

WTF-go and have a bit of fun-she obviously thinks of you well if she is going to this extent. If you dog her out you may regret it down the road :(

I think she understands that she is putting him through tourture, if anything, drinks should be on her too.

Take'er out for dinner/drinks and get her a T-shirt. Accept the other offers she gives, and have as good of a time as you can. It's only 1 night of Fiona, so it can't be that bad.

That's a Beatles cover and as a Beatles fan it upsets me too. I went to lunch with my wife and she had her last CD going and uh...I don't know what piece would be worth a concert full of that, but godspeed Kosy.
