Leafs trading Kubina, Gil, etc for Pronger? Ha, that would be something else!

I'm sure it would impress the other UFAs as well.

Arnason could have a good year in Colorado. They don't have Turgeon anymore, do they? I'm interested to see the numbers for Gerber's deal.

As far as I know he hasn't signed there yet. I've just heard multiple rumors that he is done in Denver, and that LA is the frontrunner right now due to his history tehre.

Its the year of overpaying defenseman. Blake at 6, Kubina at 5, McCabe at close to 6, Mitchell at 4(?), Gill at 2, Pothier at 2.5, Corvo at 2ish, Jovo over 6, Chara at 7.5, Boullion at close to 2. There are so many good D available you'd think that that alone would lessen their indivdual demand, but I guess it hasn't.

Looks like maybe we'll have to resign poti after all...

Good god no...Seriously, that would be a huge mistake. We might have to go after guys like Witt or Markov now.

I don't know if Aaron Ward is looking to leave Carolina, but he would be a great depth defenseman who would come relatively cheap.

Parrish ended up getting 5 yrs, $2.65. I think he is one of the biggest sleepers today. He is relatively cheap, and can get close to 30 goals a year.

Minny is building a pretty solid team. Although Carney should retire and then need another o-dman. I think they can leap over the Avs into the playoff picture

edit: tsn says Brian Pothier left Ottawa but no team has reported that they signed him. Where did he go? Europe?

Wow, with the way the B's are signing, they may be a team to reckon with next season :o

I haven't finished reading this thread yet, but after reading your post the only thing I thought to myself was:

Good signings- but their head coach is still Dave Lewis- meaning they'll get bounced in the first round.
