Yes, but the events in the movie happen in the order JR posted.

There are some jokes in C2 that aren't as funny if you haven't seen the original Clerks. I think there's at least one reference to something from every other movie. Now I just have to go find one of those avatars Elias was talking about.

Haha, I saw it last night...I wouldn't say funniest EVER, but man it was hilarious! When he was immitating the Lord of the Rings movies, that was just awesome...porchmonkeys was also HILARIOUS. I give it a 10/10, best comedy this year by far.

That's why I put "chronological order." The girl who dies in the pool is the clue - she just died before Mallrats, in Clerks they go to the funeral.

I saw it last night and while I found it funny and entertaining I wouldn't rate it as an all-time top comedy. Certain parts were very funny and I loved all the old Clerks and Kevin Smith references but I always get pissed off when these movies turn into goddamn romantic comedies near the end and get less funny. I guess its because Dante and Randal grew up (more Dante the Randal) and they have to show that but I just hate how the love stories always get thrown in there. Same thing happened to Wedding Crashers. All-in-all it wasn't a waste of my money or time and it was pretty entertaining, I just think it could have been a little better. One real big plus though is the language and jokes in the movies, glad Kevin Smith didn't tone it down for the more FCC (or whoever it is) friendly rating.

Smith said he was shocked that it didn't have to be edited at all to get an R rating. Considering the MPAA wanted to give clerks an NC17 rating, the R for C2 is amazing.
