Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 I have exact what your talking about and I wear mine for 3-4 days before I take them out. Hell usually I don't even take them out on my own, they just will start falling out of my eye and I'll know I can put them back in for another couple hours and then need to change them. But yeah, if you want to change them every single day like your supposed to then you won't need to clean them or use solution or anything because they definatly are great for a day or two before I even notice I have them in and need to wet them again with solution. TBLfan 25 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 you can reuse them for weeks, if not months. You're not supposed to sleep with any contacts but sometimes I do... it's just easier. btw visine for contacts is better than putting the solution in your eye :P
Gongshow11 1 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I bought lenses that never get tossed out. Last ~2 yrs. Solution every night and put into case. Saves much more money than any type of disposable, and is extremely high quality.

Juice_Slowjamz 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 Yea, some contacts are rated to be worn overnight, but they cut down on length they can be kept. e.g. 2 week disposables can only be kept for a week if you sleep in them. Its best not to sleep or nap in them for that matter, its very bad for your eyes. When you sleep in them, it cuts down on the Oxygen that gets to the crucial part of your eyes. When that happens, tiny blood vessels appear on the front of your eyes. Making you more susceptible to Glaucoma, and blindness.I wear Acuvue Oasys and they're the best ones I've ever worn, they feel just like silk.
hapamatt122 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I have the Acuvue Oasis also,, love 'em!!
EBondo 233 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I wear Acuvue 2 in my right eye, Acuvue toric's in my left, because I have a stigmatism (sp) in my left eye. Can't tell they're even there. Sometimes I nap in them (i.e. school haha) or if I unintentionally fall asleep at home...but they're not good to sleep in.
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I bought lenses that never get tossed out. Last ~2 yrs. Solution every night and put into case. Saves much more money than any type of disposable, and is extremely high quality. I believe there was an antitust lawsuit some years ago against Bausch and Lomb. They were selling the exact same lenses for extended wear and for disposable wear.I use 2 week disposables but like many others I can stretch their lives a bit. I developed an allergy to some of the preservatives 10 yrs ago and got hives on the inside of my eyelids. I only use CIBA porducts anymore.
JR Boucicaut 3802 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I wore Acuvue Advance - hated them, especially when sharpening. Switched back to monthlies (PureVision) and never looked back.
Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I have the 30 day use ones, but only use them when I am skating, playing hockey or football (soccer). I think they are great, I do take a bottle of rewetting agent to the rink with me as the cold air coming from the ice can dry the contacts, not all the time, but handy to have with you.I had rec-specs, next step is lasik, I will never wear glasses to the rink again
ChrisGP 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I get 3 pairs every 3 months and am supposed to wear 1 set each month but I usually mess up the dates, doesn't cause any problems wearing them for longer than I'm supposed to.I also don't really bother taking them out, only if they're really hurting me. I know you're supposed to take them out every night, etc...but I've just always left them in, I had a check up a few weeks ago and was told by the contact lense guy that everything was perfect :D Nice to know I'm not ruining my eyes! hockeysew 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 I use the Accuview and am quite pleased with themI usually keep them in for a week and then go a minimum of 24 hrs with them out of the eyes and soaking in solution. This is what my opthomoligist (sp?) recommended and works well for me.I dont replace them on a given time frame, rather I judge from the way they feel (again as the Dr advised). If it seems I have to use the re-wetting drops more frequently or they feel uncomfortable then its time to toss them. I usually get 2 months from a pair.I would not advise anyone to squirt the storage/disinfecting solution directly into your eyes, this wont do much as far as moistening the contact and could possibly be unhealthy for the eyes. These solutions have agents in them that remove protien deposits from your contacts and might not be the best directly in the eye! :( I use the wetting drops that are marketed under the name of Systane-they work very well, even when you go to the bar and it feels like you have potato chips on your eyes.I usually put a couple drops in before a game and am good to go for the entire game as far as dry-eye goes. Good Stuff!I've worn contacts for 20 years and so far these Accuviews are the most comfortable and accurate vision lenses I have ever had.

fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted July 26, 2006 focus daily contact lenses, have been using them for about 2 years. I opted with the dailies as I only wear them during sports (2-3 times a week) and have been having probs with conventional lenses. Anyway, they are less hassle, just use and throw away. You dont need any cleaning solution at all. Maybe a little eye drops or wetting solution, but thats about it. Just try out the trail pair, and go from there.Btw, you shouldnt keep them in for too long, and I suggest disposing of them once you are done. I had a severe eye infection for like 2 weeks, cause i just kept wearing my contacts without throwing them away. I looked like a druggie with my eyes all red... also, dont risk your eyesight. hockeymom 2 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Sometimes it takes awhile to learn how to "poke yourself in the eye"... just keep at it and it honestly gets easier. Same with taking them out. Eventually you can do both without a mirror!I use weekly Accuvue - but I am a world class contact abuser and have had to take a beak to let my eyes heal up. Starving the eye of oxygen by not removing them is just plain stupidity (call me stupid). I plan to wear contacts for another year and then get surgery; figure they've practiced on enough people that it is safe for me to slide in now.

Haha i had to do that a couple of weeks ago and i was in there for about an hour trying to get them in... It was hard the first time, but its alot easier after the first time...Also, I saw a little ad for the Nike Maxsight contact lenses (the ones that are supposed to be used during sports) and was wondering if anyone had them. I was thinking about getting some but wasnt sure if they actually helped.
