Any Defective Supreme ONE90 skates out there ?

Recommended Posts

So I was just wondering if up to now anyone has had any manufacturer's problems with their ONE90 skates (or knows someone) ? And if so what sort of problems (please don't flood this with misfit issues).

The copper washer fell off one of my boots but we all know that does not constitute a defective skate. The skates have been in the marketplace less than 6 weeks. Considering the RD & D, QC, and everything else that NBH has put into this product, I think looking for defects already is a bit silly, IMHO.

I have had my One90's for about a month. After the one hour of open skate, I noticed (by feel and sound) that the steel in the right holder was moving as I transitioned weight from heel to toe (skating and walking). I brought the skate bake to the shop, and the guys removed, reseated, and re-tightened the steel a couple of times without being able to get the blade seated correctly to eliminate the movement.

The LHS contacted the Bauer rep. who is sending them a holder next week to replace what they feel is a defective one. I'll keep the same profiled steel, so hopefully I wont notice any difference other than the movement being eliminated. Other than this, I have been very satisfied with the skate so far.

Not sure how to explain this, but I've noticed after two skates that the 3D thermoformed Tech Mesh is kinda creasing (almost like a bubble) and it seems like the wires/strings on the mesh are cracking right around the area where Tech Mesh curves into the composite outsole around the plastic area between the tech mesh and the toecap. Its happening on both skates on the inn side and the outside as well any suggestions what that could be ?

No outsole/quarter separation though, right?

No, but obviously something is not right here. It seems like its being pushed out not sure by what. I'll see how it goes, if it will get worse I will contact Nike Bauer.

I finally got to see a pair of these skates for the first time at my LHS and I was impressed by the look and weight of the skate however I noticed that the tongue is very thin or at least seemed to be IMO. How has the protection been in that area? I also cant help but think that this skate has the ability to break down very fast. This comming from a Graf 705 skater. Comments please.

Tongue is very nice. Very good protection especially around the lace bite area. Also wraps around the foot very nicely. I can't tell you about durability yet because like people have said its still a very new product, but as you can see I am already experiencing some problems, but knowing my luck it will only be me.

Yah, there's bound to be some defects, after all they are still a relatively new product. Lots of top quality things have issues when they are first released, but it doesn;t translate to them being bad.

The skates may be top quality but skates this high end are ussually more based on performance like XXX's were and are not as based on durability/reliability then more traditional lower end skates
