What's a good price

Recommended Posts

I need to know what a good price to pay for a pair of Easton 1500c skates. Is $350 high or low for a new pair which is what my LHS is selling them for.

If thats for a senior, then yes that seems like a very reasonable price. Shops around here are selling the seniors for $500+.

If thats CDN or US whats wrong with them for that price? Thats to cheap..even if someone was giving you a discount thats below cost.....so???? Must be something wrong with them.

It's a brand new shop, so I think they are trying to steal all of Pure Hockey's customers by offering these and all the other top end skates at such low prices. They also have a rapid fire room that cost 5 bucks a session, but every dollar you spend goes toward the discount on a OPS. The place is an all around deal

Sounds like this store is willing to slit their throats to stay in business. Shops like that will get busted for underselling product and will get their accounts revoked.

I've been going to Pure Hockey in central MA since they opened. The reason I keep going back is the service. Over the years I've gotten countless free sharpenings, rolls of tape, hats, shirts, and even a tuuk replacement.

In other words. Price isn't always my main concern. I'll pay the extra $$$ because I know they will stand behind what they sell.

that and if they have better service than the other shop who would you rather go to a place where they know how to fit the skate better or a place that just has a lower price. make more sense to go to the place thats abit more expensive but stand behind there product and are better knowledged

The name of the shop is Breakaway Hockey in Needham, MA. The price is not low because they are demos because all the high end skates are selling for far less than any other shop. With the skates you get a free t-shirt and 10 free sharpenings which is cool

The skates are that price because it's a special they are running (15% off) during the month of August. I heard thier add on the drive home from work.

They opened a Breakaway here in Franklin, too. I was supposed to work there but that got shot down :( . I bet they'll stay in buisness, JR, as they were an established sports store that has re-branded and become all hockey to serve the demand for an all hockey shop here.

If the original poster would've said that it was a sale and not that they ALWAYS sold skates that low, then this this thread would not have been two pages.

It was a dumb comment that didn't warrant a PM.
