Sr 7k's are $200.00. I looked at them. I spent the extra $50.00 and went with the 8k's instead.

$148.00 seems like a heck of a deal. They are pretty nice skate. I was suprised at how well the 8k felt on and off the ice. The 7k's aren't much different.

It's upsetting how Hockey Giant people try hard not to keep their commitment to price match. They lie and come up with all kind of pretexts not to price match. Their manager even lied that he had called up Kemps Hockey and was told they have none in stock. I then sent an inquiry to Kemp's and here is their response:

Same thing happenned when Kemps had a blow out sale for the RBK 8K for $150 -they try their best to blow you off (Hockey Giant).

But you can get an additional 5% off from Hockey Giant if you push harder. Just don't let them blow you off, be persistent.

The store I really like dealing with is Larry's Sport Shop www.myhockeystore.com. I always deal with Danny Luongo there.

If you negotiate, you'd get the best price around on anything. They even special ordered Vector 10 skates for me without charging me in advance. The price was lower than anybody's else's stock size. And Danny Luongo even gave me the promo CCM Vector 10 stick off their rack instead of having me mail in the coupon to CCM (probably because I am international). Nice folks.

Another good store is Discount Hockey in CA. Everything is just $1 there (kidding but they indeed give you pretty good prices).

Just dropped down there, didn't pick up anything on sale. I was THIS close (distance between these lines --> ||) to picking up an R2 XN10, but I didn't. The guy at the skate sharpening/glue gun/whatever else said that it wouldn't fit into any of the tapered blades I asked him to put in I didn't see any of the 7/8K's though, but if I did, I wouldn't have bought them. I don't fit into THC skates.

HG's price match is only valid if the competitor has the exact same size you want to buy in stock.

This is understood. So I wanted them to price match size 9,5D (confirmed by Kemp's Frank on the phone they had it) and then size 10,5D (Kemp's confirmed by e-mail they had it).

Looks like they price match when price difference is just a couple of bucks. When we're talking $329.99 and $148.00 it's different. I call it BS.
