pantherfan 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 No way can he be called the most dominant soccer player ever, IMO he isn't even the most dominent now.
Vapor 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 Samuel L Jackson is without a dobut the most dominate snake wrangler of our time, and maybe of all time.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 Jim Brown, Michael Jordan, and Jerry Rice... and I don't think it's that close (although Gale Sayers would be up there if he would've played longer). Guys like Shaq and Chamberlain are dominant physically, but I don't think I'd consider them dominant athletes. Joe Montana and Wayne Gretzky were two of the most dominating players, but I wouldn't consider them the best athlete's either. If you replace "athlete" with "sports player", then I'd have to go with Ruth and Gretzky in a tie, Rice, and Jordan. Hockeyman9621 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 I can't believe no one included Lemieux, he was definitely the most dominant in terms of goal scoring. The way he would score at will was amazing.

TBLfan 25 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 If Lemieux would have been healthy his career he would have been on the top of the list. He was probably the most talented guy to ever play in the NHL.A few people have mentioned Joe Montana, he was my childhood idol. I don't know whether I'd put him on this list but he was the best passer of his time and probably ever. He was mobile and helped design his own offense(the west coast offense). In his later years he turned the decent Chiefs into a playoff contender. Does he belong on this list? In my opinion, no. There were guys like Barry Sanders and Gale Sayers that dominated to a much larger extent, Barry did it with a horrible offensive line and not much of a passing game. Thockey17 1 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 Deffinitally not. He is very inconsistant. Look at his performance in the world cup he didnt do shit. Everyone is inconsistent. When he's on top of his game, he's the most dominant. Plus, he's just hitting his prime. I made a mistake, and posted my thought of a soccer player now. Barry sanders gets my vote, actually. Him or Chamberlain.

tbintexas 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 sheesh guys... it wasn't about who was the best at their sport for a year or two, it was who was the most dominant... athletes that were head-and-shoulders better than the rest of their competitors - guys that are/were legends.Lance Armstrong, who is/was an incredible cyclist was a Tour de France specialist. He relied on having a very strong team a great deal for all his victories and didn't really compete in anything but the tour the last few years. Cycling's most dominant was probably Eddy Mercyx who won all types of races and absolutely crushed his opponents.Hockey - yes, Bobby Orr was an incredible defenceman, but the most dominant would be that Gretzky guy. He simply out-pointed everyone for years - many years it wasn't even close.B-ball: That Wilt Chamberlain guy - Jordan wasn't too bad himself though ;)Track and field - how about Edwin Moses who over a span of nine years and nine months, won 107 consecutive finals.
