Prostock Warrior Dolomites

Recommended Posts

Just got this:

Nationals are pro stock, they just weren't all originally dolomites. As has been mentioned numerous time in the past, what a pro stick looks like is unrelated to what it really is underneath. Any anger over the sticks should be directed to Warrior and not National in this case, they are correct in the way they describe the sticks.

What irked me is that the markings did not appear to be pro stock to me. Like I mentioned earlier, all these sticks just had the flex on the side (260, 300 etc). Every game used Dolomite I have ever seen had the full number numbers nondescript on the side. Also all the various stores seem to have the same type of sticks, which looks more like an orchestrated Warrior sales effort. All I'm saying is that I am skeptical these sticks were actually made for the players themselves...

Why would they have the pro markings if they were repainted before sending them to retail? Inno has a long history of dumping leftover pro stocks through Canadian big box stores. They used to paint them as Hespelers for Forzani before Forzani bought Hespeler.

maybe they were hocking the old stock of sticks that didn't sell to the pros?

Most would rather buy a Warrior dolomite with Ilya Kovalchuk's name on it than a Hespeler Nemesis or Patriot.

Nothing wrong with Hespeler, Warrior is just recognized as being used in the league. Look at the Winn Well G-500 sticks. I've never seen one in person, But I thought them to be crap until I found out that they're repainted Vapor XXXs.

WTF? I found out from National what the sticks actually are and wanted to clear up the confusion. Evidently no good deed goes unpunished around here.

On hockeymonkey, does anyone have a picture of the Whitney or Sillinger curves?

It says the Whitney is a cross between the Draper and Fedorov, so would it be like a toned down Draper?

Thanks

I see what you are saying now - just pro stocks repainted to look like Dolomites for retail (as opposed to a bunch or lower-end shafts with pro blades) - sorry a little slow of the mark. Still curious about the stickers inside the shafts though...but only Warrior can answer that...

Sounds like our members should do a little research before purchasing an item then. Know what your player is using. Most of the names listed I was a little skeptical about. I know Schaefer and Kovalev both use standard blade combo's so an OPS was a little weird, especailly since there appears to be alot out there.

I'd also be skeptical about Nationals SLs, I know they aren't all the same across the board.

Flash - What were the blades like on the "Royales"? Since those aren't checkerboarded like the Warriors, and the Pro Innos seem to have a unique look, this may be a way for the buyers to know whether it's the real deal or not.

About the National SL's they are all NHL returned Pro sticks. You can see by the sticker under the price tag put there by Easton. They are mostly 100 and 110 flexes.

How can I tell if my Dolomite is "real" as you guys say? I just have to pop out the butt end and look at the sticker inside? I'm happy with the stick anyways. I paid a good price and I'm happy with how the stick performs regardless of the brand name and model. That's sort of scamming people though if they're not true Warrior Dolomite Pro-Returns as the price tag states.

Whats the quesion...they are all PRO OVER RUN STICKS Some have the proper numbers weight and flex as in the old days with Inno?

All the ones that say Royale inside are not fiberglass like the reg ones they are carbon mixture but very stiff and a little heavy.

Now National isnt the only one with these sticks so lets not say that the Box Stores go with a company in this case Warrior because as I have seen here a lot of smaller retailers have these sticks so that tells me that they have done the same for all the stores.

Let me get this straight now.....they way some people think....

1 small store orders pro returns and they give them all perfect patterns and "real" pro returns.

Or a large order comes from a multiple store all around the same stores area and they rip off the larger order to save the small guy?

Ummm yah right....any way

GUYS>>>>>>>the sticks are all Pro Return 2 piece sticks with weird curves and yes they probably had a feild day puting names that dont match to some of them but hey your getting a PRO stick un used for a great deal.

Take your time feel the shaft check the Butt end if you want for the real flex.

Enjoy the sticks where ever you get one!

Thats good to hear.

Im ordering 2 or 3 Parise Dolomites from Hockey Monkey , so they could actually be Mac Daddy's then since Zach(If they are his) usually uses a lighter stick.

Never meant to imply National was doing anything wrong, just saying that Inno/warrior has been doing this for a long time.

just looked inside the Whitney Dolomite I picked up from the Bruins pro shop, its actually just an Innovative 1100. I could care less, for $50 its still should be considered a steal. same goes for a pro stock for one piece for 120.

all Dolomites are inno 1100s.

some say 1100, some say dolo. basically the ones that say 1100 were produced shortly before the change in name. It goes for retail sticks too.

Saw a couple dozen at the LHS today for $150 CDN.

LH: Chara, Pronger, Jovanovski, Tucker, Kovalev, Ronning

RH: Sundin, Peca, McCarty, Laraque, Samsonov

Which store is that?

College Source for Sports in Brantford; they had the Easton and Bauer pro stocks back in 2004.

anyone else get a phone call from hockeymonkey saying 'it was a typo & that pattern doesn't exist on the warrior stick'

wtf?

i told them i know it does, i know people who have it. but i know the girl's probably just reading whatever she's told to say, so i didn't wanna argue. still it's a bunch of BS.

For what stick? I'm still in shock that their entire line-up of available patters/players changed overnight.

the kovalchuk

i know it dissapeared off the site after the first day, but i just figured it went quick cause everyone loves a toe curve & he's a popular player.

i still can't believe they're trying to tell people it was a typo & doesn't exist. when they had every spec down to the lie & length.

Your not alone with the phone call from Hockey Monkey regarding the Kovalchuk sticks...cancelled my order as well, pissed me off... IF ANYONE has access to one or two of these Kovalchuk pro return Dolomites (or is even willing to sell one they bought that they might not want or don't like  ) from their local store (sounds like there are quite a few rolling around in Ontario) and they would be willing to pick one or two of em up...I would be willing to toss a few extra bucks there way for grabbing them for me! :D Would need them shipped to western canada...obviously would pay for that too....thanks in advance for anyone who would help....PM me, will check my inbox every 4 or 5 waking hours...

i may try to convince them to give me a regular dolo at the pro stock price. i dunno. i'm just kinda pissed they're actually trying to lie & tell me the pattern doesn't exist.
