shute 4 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 the prices of your wheels needs to be lowered first. i as a customer don't find it a good deal when i have ot pay the same amount for your wheels as i do for a set of rinkrats. giving away bearings it a must for your wheels cause a lot of higher end users who would pay $9 for a wheel (trinity flex)are already using 688 bearings. lower the price to $6 per wheel with the free bearings and then you will get some interest from people willing to "test" out your new wheel. ATLstealth09 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 Shute, that's like asking for someone to sell you a shaft for half price and getting a blade free, as well.I think the high price warrants a little something, such as the free bearings. Consider if you payed 6 bucks a wheel, and got a set for 48. Now they give you a set of 40 dollar bearings? That's not logical. Even if wheels don't cost 6 dollars to make, and bearings don't cost 40, the market value is the market value, and you can't just go making people compromise.I think the Hyper deal is great, but the only way to market these things might be to go down to the grassroots. Whenever you go to a tournament, hook up a well known player from the area, and if they are truly what they are said to be, the rumors will spread. And when they hear they can get free bearings? Done deal!
deft1 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 Bearings can be had for pretty cheap. So, free bearings is not much of a draw for me.
shhweak12 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 i smell a hater. Shute- whats the reason for negative comments when a dealers trying to help someone out by giving away something free. Its like tours deals with skates they may give out a free helmet. Highly doubtful you tried the wheels and your asking for the price to be lowered. If you have, i apologize

Its like tours deals with skates they may give out a free helmet. Highly doubtful you tried the wheels and your asking for the price to be lowered. If you have, i apologize i'm not a hater i'm just a customer and why should i pay the same price for wheels that i know nothing about or buy anything else but rinkrats? This deal has been on epuck for some time and i don't see to many people here saying they have tried it or anything. That just shows you that this deal means nothing to us customers. you're not going to convince us to give these wheels a chance when in our minds rinkrats can be had for the same price and are the best. free bearings mean nothing to people who already have high end skates and are using 688 bearings. hyper almost has to give away bearings cause they went back to 608 bearings while most people who are willing to spend money on high end stuff are on 688 bearings. bottom line is that i'm a customer and the only way you can get me to "try" something else besides rinkrats is to be cheaper then rinkrats and when i mean cheaper i don't mean just buying the wheels but the whole setup... ExitTwoEighty 7 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 I agree with shute on this one, if I'm going to be spending that much money on wheels i'm getting rink rats because I know they will last me.
shhweak12 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 true. but at the same time if you havent tried the wheels comments shouldnt be said about them when you dont know much about them. I understand the money issue. If your not sure somethings going to last then why buy it. I was just stating my point that its not a bad thing for a free set of bearings to be thrown in there. But if your not willing to spend money on a high end wheel like a zero g or trinity why not maybe try the saturn wheel. Thats my point

JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 Shute - your reasoning is completely off-base.The bearings are a way to get people to *try* the wheels without having to change bearings. Mission, Easton and CCM have done it for their products - it is a way to get the customer to try the product. While you may have your mind set on what you want to spend, there is no need to bash the manufacturer for their attempts to get people to use their products. Jim A 4 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 ahh..roller..where people expect things for free all the time and don't recognize a deal for a deal...Shayne is offering a deal to get people back into his product it wasn't that long ago when RR was the newcomer at $9-10 a wheel and people wouldn't switch from Labeda, Hyper because it was unknown..same with Revision...now the pendulum has swung...and Shayne is putting company product where his mouth is...a good gesture... Neo5370 132 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Well what if you apply that logic to other pieces of equipment/companies. Should Kor have put their skate out at say 200 dollars instead of the 400-500 mark just to get people to "try" their skate and then jack up the price when people realized it was a good deal? No, they'd get bashed for raising prices. And with all due respect no one is saying you have to try them. If you are happy with your rinkrats, then stick with them and lead a happy life.Once again I don't want to come off as snide, just adding my two cents. Also the Kors were "new" in a way something that no one else had tried in a hockey boot at the time and their price wasn't less then most other company’s top of the line boots. I think they are the best hockey boot out right now but unfortunately most people are not willing to pay that much to "try" a new product when they can just go with brands they know and trust.i'm not saying it's a bad move giving away bearings i'm just saying that my next set of wheels will be rinkrats unless i get a ton of people willing to "try" it and say they are better. until then i've wasted my fair share of money on junk before and i'm not willing to spend anymore to "try" something that no one knows about. If some dealer told you that their new Kia car that you know nothing about was the same price as their new Toyota car would you go for the Kia even if they throw in "free" AC which the toyota already has? iceburg19 1 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 shute, igot ya piont.there was a post on the new hyper wheels awhile back,i asked if anyone was skateing on them yet ,there wasnt enuogh feed back on the wheels for me to go out and spend $9 or $10 dollars for wheels that might not last as long as the ones i am useing, shute wasnt saying nothing bad about the product, he is just making sure his money is well spent.time will tell if this is another hot wheel on the market, and if it is then i would give them a shot. #96 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2006 Schute, I'm sorta with you on this one. As Donald Trump has said, "It's all about price." And the price for the wheels is not a good one. I had a teammate use them with his 10000s and they crapped out in a fairly short amount of time. In that case, I'll take a heavier wheel (Rink Rat) over a lighter wheel. But, as JR said, it's a deal to try and spark interest. Can't blame them for that. But in all actuality, this thread could have been ended a lot sooner by citing Rule #7...7. While we are sure you are proud of your product or employer, retail advertising is expressly prohibited. If you work for a manufacturer please contact one of the moderators, to find out what special options are available to you.
JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted November 13, 2006 Agreed with Rule 7, but after seeing Shute's comment, I was very curious to see where it would end up so that's why I kept it open. Once Shayne responds I'll most likely close it.
Shayne Arsenault 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2006 Hey Guys, sorry about the rule #7, won't happen again. Couple of things in closing, the formula G flex is an updated model of the formula G, the G is still available. Shute, I respect your loyalty, giving the bearings away is an effort to try and spark interest in the product as we have been taking it on the chin from Rink Rat. Worse case scenario, you hate the wheels but have great bearings to put in whatever wheel you like? The wheel is priced about the same as Rink Rat as the construction and components are similar in cost. The trinity is the only 3 pour wheel on the market. It wasn't long ago Mike was on the boards telling people to try the Rink Rat wheels, I am doing the same. At some point in time you had to buy Rink Rat for the first time and stray from whatever you used before? Finally, if there are any of you that have had issues, please email me, I will look after any problems you have had. sarsenault@bravocorp.comShayne
