Under Armour

Thats crazy, I have only seen the bigger name Dryfit stuff down here so a shirt will cost you $60. Not that I really look hard for them or anything, but it's awesome you guys can get them so cheap.

If you're interested I can get the shorties for $12 and the long sleeve for $15 plus shipping.

There's a nike outlet close by to me, the dri-fit long sleeve's cost $40, and that's discounted. I have a few under armour short sleeve shirts that I wash once a week during the season.

I like it. It's more similar to the Bauer stuff but it's very light. It really pulls the sweat off your body and dries out fairly quickly. JR has one of the shorties, he "liberated" one of mine. :P

yeah, I used to wear the stuff that was a little more loose, but then in a similar fashion my friend who works there "liberated" me a short sleeve from modells after I had been raving about the compression shorts so much.

The life on the Under Armor socks isn't long. After two months, on the ice 4 hrs/week, my feet wouldn't feel as dry as when they were new. I washed them 2 or 3 times in that period. I still use them 'cause they're super thin.

Does anyone know if the washlife applies to the socks as well? I have dri-fit Addidas socks (cheapest ones I could find) and they are like a sock material, rather than the silk-ish UA shirt material. They're working well, but since I used to go barefoot alot of the dye in the skates went onto them and they smell brutal from the sweat.

Hey, just read this in Esquire magazine (Dec 2005, page 94) in "Sweat Shopping; five anti-hibernation gifts for the active man:

4. For the man whose laundry threatens his marriage The sweat wicked from your body by high-tech fabrics like Coolmax and Dri-Fit always leaves a trail of funk in those miracle fibers. No more. Specially forumlated for workout gear, Win Sport Detergent will even get the stink out of your "you have to get rid of this" shirt. $7; winproductsinc.com.

I haven't tried it though ...

I have several Wicking shirts (Head Brand) that I got from Sports Authority about 2 years ago. They get this wierd smell after all my games, even just one, that I have to wash them after every use. They definately don't wick as well, cuz my lower back is dripping wet after a game. I guess it's time to invest in some new shirts.

I never had a problem with the smell of mine until a few months ago, when I played in a game in Vegas, and left my gear in the hotel room in my bag for 3 days. When I got home and took it out, the smell of my heatgear UA shirt was so bad I almost puked...lol. It took about 7 washes with reg. detergent to get the smell out.

Hey guys,

Just bought a couple of the longsleeve HeatGear/TurfGear shirts for under my gear, but good GOD the stuff is expensive if I can only wash it 30 times before it becomes a dustrag. I think I'm paying like $40+ for one long sleeve shirt. Playing twice a week means I get a little more than half a year out of the two shirts (30 weeks). Anyone have a line on a place that discounts the UA stuff? On top of it being expensive, they rarely even HAVE the damn size I wear (Men's Large) at the local places that DO carry it.

Thanks for any tips,

Jeff

its the same with the nike and even adidas dri-fit type clothes(football shirts etc)

not sure if this got mentioned someplace in the next past 3 pages... but isnt it all exactly the same thin with just a different logo... i know there are differnet kinds of under armor (hold gear, heat gear, turf gear, etc.) but when it comes down to it...ain't it all the same?

I wear nothing but sleeveless during games. Works for me. I like how my elbow pads don't shift because of the sleeveless-ness.

I wear the sleeveless mesh type Dri-Fit Nike tops in the gym and they work well. I've worn the short sleeve Nike Dri-fit loose fit stuff under my gear and it worked ok... I've washed these a TON of times though... for whatever that's worth. The short sleeve stuff was ok, but I'm kinda diggin the long sleeve tight UA stuff now for under the gear. I like the idea that the gross bacteria festering gear isn't against my skin. A dude in my league got a friggin staph infection from his gear and it took a long a$$ time for him to get rid of it. Needless to say, he's pretty adamant about washing his gear regularly.

So... anyone got a good source for this stuff?

Later,

Jeff

You should look into Puck Skin. It has silver nanos embedded into the fibers. When the perspiration gets wicked away to the outside, the silver prevents the bacteria from growing. Makes it more hygenic and smell better.

In addition, they have a postage size stamp on the back that literally sucks up the odors.
