New warrior stick sighting?

Recommended Posts

Hey cwc (or anyone else for that matter),

Do you know why so many players spray paint the bottom of their sticks? Is it a durability thing or does it somehow affect performance or is it to blend in with the puck? I can't figure it out. I know it's been discussed on here before, but I never got a conclusive answer as to why so many guys do this.

Also, why when they put the paint or whatever the black stuff is, do they blow torch the stick? Is it just to dry the paint. I would think a hair dryer would be sufficient for that.

im pretty sure they spraypaint the bottom of the stick so they can hide the puck better which IMO doesnt work well

to be honest i think it is because the sticks are getting so flashy with such bright colors. Correct me if im wrong but painting the shaft black does nothing for hiding the puck. i know Kovy does it with his dolomite( or he at least has the bottom blacked out). i have one of savards old dolomites and it is all blacked out except for the warrior in orange. i tried to black mine out with a marker but it faded away from getting slashed and such. paint does the same.

marker would be horrible tto do it with

with paint it depends on the greade of paint and how mony layers you put on. i just did mine a week ago and doest look to bad after 2 games and a practice.

There are a number of reasons players spraypaint the bottom of their sticks.

For me,I paint the bottom of my sticks and use white tape as it helps me see the puck better on my blade and I also think it looks good.Ive been painting the bottom of my sticks for about 5 years now also.

when you blowtorch a freshly painted blade , you're drying the paint fast and some of it boils so you get a little texture also. I don't know if that's why it is done but I know that's what happens.

yeah but why take the risk if it will damage a 150$ops, maybe if you get them free you can try this

ive read on another thread that goalies read the angle of the shaft and blade when the puck is released. If you paint it black it is harder for the goalie to get a read on it. I paint my sticks as well.

i honestly don't know, thats just what ive heard. I paint mine mostly because i think it looks better. I have a broken SL that i put a wood blade in and i thought it looked like crap so i painted the blade black and then did a little fade job on the shaft to make it look good.

The new grip is called the Nipple Grip. Odd name but it is the new name. I saw the catalog for Warrior last week. Definitely impressed by the new gloves the most.

Cliff Ronning is a Warrior Pro Rep now? Weird. I never thought someone would go from playing in the show to getting gear for guys who play in the show.

It happens all the time. In fact, it does more for you to have a pro background than to know the product in and out.
