Wierd Vapor XXX Lite

Recommended Posts

My friend got a Team USA Vapor XXX Lite a couple of days ago, and today I was looking at it and noticed that the shaft after the white paint had the Warrior/Inno Checker Board Weave and then stopped where the fuse point would be , then the blade was the new XXX Lite Blade. But didnt NBH stop using the Inno made shafts when the XXX was no longer made? Or could this possibly be a Re-Painted Original Vapor XXX?

On Coatesy's corner, a segment between periods during Flyers games, they were looking at stick curving devices and the example sitck they used was Sami Kapanen's. He uses one of the XXX Lites with the orangish X's and his whole blade was checkerboard, I found that odd too.

And now the hockey companys sit back and laugh till it hurts.

Why would you saw that?, It was said that Innovative is no longer making sticks for NBH, yet some pros have new sticks with the Innovative Checker Weave.

And its companies.

Because ops in all are beginning to be a joke.

you are going to see more blades from the stick companies having the "checkerboard" finish to it. With the way the sticks are made now it is more of a production/finishing thing than a design thing

I thought this thread was going to be about the woody XXX-lites.. http://www.epuck.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ser...tegoryId=628076

vaporxxx_woody_stick2.jpg

I thought the same thing there Matty! If we had wood panelled station wagons in Aus I would so buy one. As my sister keeps telling me "Its all about the accesorsing action!" lol.

Hahaha.. funny, I only get called Matty by hockey people!! but hey, its all good... anyways, This wood stick is lighter then the XXX-Lite composite by 5-grams, but how much more durable is the composite than the woody, I was always under the impression that the woody's break easier but they are cheaper so its more economical for people that like the woody's for the fact that its cheaper to replace them.. now we have an expensive woody, so how well will that take to the marketplace? unless, of course this is a considerably durable stick for being a woody... sorry, I don't really know anything about the xxx-lite woody so I'm trying to understand the benefit.. thanks..

edit: or am I totally duped and this is just a regular XXX-lite with a wood graphics finish?!?!

It's a wood graphic finish.

you are going to see more blades from the stick companies having the "checkerboard" finish to it. With the way the sticks are made now it is more of a production/finishing thing than a design thing

Thanks for the confirmation.

So it has been established, the Vapor XXX lite is the same as the woody with different graphics, but I heard the the Vapor XXX lite had some duribility problems and was wondering if they maybe fixed that for the wood. I am looking to get a new stick and was thinking about trying either the XXX lite or the woody, can anyone tell me what they thought if they have used either one

I have three vapor xxx lites and so far I have had no problem with thier duribility. I love my vapor xxx lites, there the best stick I've used so far. I think they have great performance, and I am able to get off a better shot with them.

Some have experienced better durability in the sticks since the switch to "nike bauer" as opposed to just "bauer". It was presumed that they MAY have dealt with durability issues with the newer sticks (with NBH logo), but I don't know if they ever came out and said it.
