In addition to producing the game in HD, VERSUS will be celebrating this monumental evening by presenting several special enhancements to that night's telecast.

In addition to expert analysis and in-depth profiles of both players, both Crosby and Ovechkin will wear microphones for the entirety of the game, giving viewers a first-hand experience of the action and the emotions on the ice.

Additionally, Crosby and Ovechkin have agreed to be interviewed during that night's game, as have members of the coaching staffs.

Viewers will also hear from Penguins' prodigy Evgeni Malkin, who will be interviewed alongside his countryman, and opponent for the evening, Alex Ovechkin. This interview will prove to be a unique added specialty to the evening, as Ovechkin will serve as translator for Malkin during the course of the interview.

I do still hope they are planning on playing a hockey game also, but this could be fun

Sounds like VS have taken a leaf out of TSNs play book, they've been doing interviews in game with guys, an dused a lot more mic'd up players this year. Also I like how some games they either have pierre mac between benches to give analysis, relaying som eof the tactics discussed on the banches and more of an insight as to what is going on. They also covered a washington game this week where both commentators were between the benches the whole game, made for a better call.

That would be a hoot if Ovie did that to Malkin. I don't think they're buddies though. I remember reading they haven't played much together. Russia is a big place so they must have been on different teams / leagues growing up.

the game was awesome, the interviews and other "goodies" were nothing special. Best part of the broadcast was after the game because they showed the top ten saves as well as the top ten goals.
