I think it's a good idea, too bad there isn't a d1 or junior division. I still think this is being made to go against the tommy stahls of the world playing in whatever state for whoever will pay for them.

There is a JR division..83-85...do adults over 21 need a division...

and its against the Thomas Stahls? one of the directors HAS Stahl on his team!!

I don't think Tim and Jason would create an event just to do something to go against a kid like Thomas...too much work!!

I wonder if they actually licensed that music on the website, they don't usually permit that.

I think "Juniors" are now 16 - 18, and "D1/D2" 19-21

I've never heard of D2..other than a Mission skate

Midget is 16-18 nowadays and Jr 19-21 which is how the ages correspond...

Cali definately will not sweep all..they are usually strong in the younger age groups..but then MI in the mid and Canada/NE in the older groups..

be interesting though to see kids from OC/AMB playing together along with kids from say Snipers/HotSkates,etc..and when a kid like Jumbo Jack Combs goes back to MO (he plays for OC)

I can't wait for this. I got screwed out of the USA Junior camp just because a kid's dad owns a rink and he gives blowjobs to one of the guys that made the national selection camp. Another kid who got picked over me was 4 ft nothing and could not skate to save his life, but since he made an all thors team when he was 12 he made it. I hate stupid USA Inline, it is so corrupt! They say that with this there is not going to be any affiliation to the area where they are going to pick teams from, so that should hopefully make it fair and not pick all the kids who get their daddies to pay their way in there.

Sorry for the vent, Fred.

You're going to have politics any time people are involved in selecting a team. Unless the people choosing the team are from outside the area, you're going to run into the same crap.

Thats what they said, they're going to be people from a completely different place. Say I live in Ga, so people from Michigan will come and pick the teams. Now just gotta practice, my little brother's team that I coach is playing USA Natl's here in Alpharetta right now, so far 2-0 :) Wish the little bastard luck, unfortunately for me he plays net, lol.

Sounds like a lot of added cost doing it that way. I'd also hope the guys from Michigan don't have kids on their team.

If someone picking the Georgia team is from Michigan and they have kids on the Michigan team, they may not select the best players from Georgia. Pretty simple really.

Well i guess that will be up to whoever is picking the teams then. It should hopefully at least cut down some of the BS, i know it will always be there though.

Venting your dissapointment for not being selected may feel satisfying to you, but accusing an organization of being "corrupt" is a pretty dramatic step, particularily on a national forum read by a significant number of people involved with the sport.

I watched the entire weekend of team East tryouts, and then posted my picks in another forum..... before the official ones were released.

My own picks for team East matched up 12 for 12 for the skaters, 1 for 2 on the goalies. and I was 3 for 5 on the alternates. However, if as an independant parent I can make picks that so closely resemble those selections made by Team USA Inline..why should anyone (at least in team East) feel they were biased or political? Why would I think things were so much different for Team South or Team Midwest, or West? The same people did all the camps.....

Part of the evaluation criteria used by USA Hockey is attitude, and by posting as you have you may have exposed the key to why you were not selected....

As a further example of why I do not feel they were politically biased, several significant players were "benched" from Team East for the Gold medal game in California for their actions off the rink. This disciplinary action also affected the selection of one of these players to the National Men's Team tryouts. This particular player, in his second year of selection to the Cali Festival, was considered to be a significant prospect for the Men's team(by the members of Team USA development group). To bar his selection, Team USA showed that they were willing to stick by their guns and play by the rules they had set out, regardless of their own opinions on the quality of play of a particular player.

Maybe use your emotional energy to improve your game instead of blowing unnecessary smoke at others who are trying hard to do things right.
