Itech HS22 Mirrored

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have the HS22 mirrored? I got mine a couple weeks ago, and Love it, but i don't know if it's just Me or what, but it seems that the mirror is starting to wear a tad. I know it's not a TRUE mirror and if you look hard enough you can see through the front side, but lately it seems easier to do so. Maybe I'm just getting accustomed to it and/or maybe I'm just

i'm considering one. i really hate my tinted. but this may not be much better, & may be a little too flashy, even for me. though that does help me draw penalties.

I wore 1 for about a year before taking a puck to the mouth and switching to a cage. I didn't have any problems with the mirror or the tint but I think it's better suited for ice since it tends to be brighter than roller. It does get a reaction out of some people which is good if you are looking to draw penalties. I felt it gave me an advantage since the other team cannot see your eyes and I'm pretty good at passing. When in Rome I guess.

I remember that...."I'm hideous...look away!" ;)

i kinda wanna try one. but not if it tints your vision.

it's better for roller because ice pucks to the face hurt worse. but better suited for ice because it tints your vision.

i took 2 roller pucks to the mouth in the last 3 weeks. no teeth lost, just a really bloody nose on one of them to the upper lip. after that, i'll never use a half shield for ice.

i think the mirrored visors look awesome, does it tint your vision at all?

I also have the tinted hs22, the mirrored is a darker tint than the normal tint, but not to dark so you can't see. I really like it cuz we have a bright arena and my eyes are so much more Relaxed and not as strained as without any tint. Although the price is a little steep, having hookups helps B)

Without the intent of offending anyone, I think mirrored visors in hockey are douche-baggish.

One of the guys on our team bought one a year or so ago. When he asked about it I told him he would look like a douche. A couple weeks later he realized that all of the other guys in the area wearing them thought they were hot shit and people were hitting him a lot more because they thought he was the same way.

in most beer leagues, when it's 95% people wearing full cage's, that tends to happen to anyone wearing a half shield anyway, mirrored or not.

 Well deserved. Did he go back to the cage?

I even think Ovechkin looks like a douche when he wears his.

this probably sounds really stupid. but the reason i switched to half shield was because the chin cup on a cage was doing more harm than good. i went down to a knee to block a pass, someone skated by & kneed me in the chin while i was crouched. busted it open real good. & it just wouldn't heal beacuse every time i went against someone in a corner & the cage got dug into me, it would re-open that cut. it's been 6 months & facial hair still won't grow back in that 3" strip along my chin. looks kinda dumb if i don't shave.

I know two people who rock them for beer league. One guy is kinda goofy, but he says it's way too dark. The other guy is a major dickhead and doesn't help his cause when he pisses, moans, hacks, and gets burnt while looking like Darth Vader's older second cousin.

I'd say only about 50% wear a cage around here and another 10% wear visors.

Nope, bought a clear visor.

Sure it's PP. But perception is reality when it comes to someone's interpretation of you without knowing you. This is real-

A couple weeks later he realized that all of the other guys in the area wearing them thought they were hot shit and people were hitting him a lot more because they thought he was the same way.

So if dudes think you're trying to show them up in any way, they'll take shots at you... even if you may not deserve it like Chadd's buddy. That's what makes hockey special, and why I happen to love the game so much. RESPECT.

long island people are a little more prissy than PA i guess. haha.

my g/f keeps begging me to go back to a full cage. especially after the bloody nose last weekend & fat lip the weekend before.

it may hurt my career as a musician if i get messed up. all the little girlies won't buy my albums :(

in all seriousness though, we should get some kinda tri state area + PA msh game this winter.

If I can make somebody angry on the other team just by stepping on the ice with a mirrored shield then winning the game will be easy. I never cared what people thought about me I just buy the equipment I want to buy. If somebody wants to drop the gloves be my guest. The funniest part is now that I have switched to a cage I am getting the tough guy in a cage comments. I guess I'll have to go Craig MacTavish-style to get respect from all the tough guys who have no marks on their face.

if you rock a mirror you have to be a player, if someone comes out with a mirror and doesn't have the game then you can look like a fool but at the same time it doesnt matter if you have an old cooper helmet or a rbk 9k with a mirror shield...

I definately considered one... I went with the oakley aviator smoke tint... its not as flashy as a mirrored. It's strange for me because I'm almost out of college and starting to look around for mens leagues and with that I am retiring the old jofa bubble

+1 smoke would be less bling and still able to take advantage of the tint. As far as them seeing your eyes, looking one way and passing another at times works to your advantage. IMHO

Just got an HS22 today, and skated with it in jungle hockey....I loved the tint. It is darker than the old Itech tinted shield. Still have the Aviator half if I don't like it a game or two from now.
