Dante2004 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 I am sure there are people on this board who have either bought, sold or looked into the purchase of a rink. So...where are some suggestions to look for one that is for sale? A group of investors and myself have been brainstorming this idea in general and we want to find some specific properties to get a little more serious about our discussion.Locally, I would obviously just call a real estate agent that handles commercial property, or look in the newspaper. But I am talking about looking at the national level United States). Any websites out there that specilize in sports facilities for sale? Maybe some hockey forum out there has a special section fo r this? I see random posts form time to time about rink for sale, or sport court for sale, etc. Hopefully there is a list somewhere...Thanks a ton!

chk hrd 164 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 that rinks read like it was a synthetic rink that you have to assemble some where. I think he wants an ice rink in a building.I think Glacier Gardens in Lakewood, CA is for sale. The guy who owns it used to own the Glacier Gardens in Anaheim. He sold it and now it's a furniture store. I think it up for something like 27m.

SickLife 2 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 hey. on, but sorta offtopic, i play pickup roller with the same group of 20-30 guys every sunday. i'm in my 20's, but they're all older, around 40. & we're getting tired of having to go rink to rink when a PAL league plays at one, or a school has a permit in another, etc.we tried to rent rinks, but they seem to be doing lacrosse or soccer now to make money when hockey isn't being played.so the last option is to pay/donate an always empty but not maintained local aslphat rink to be resurfaced, & take a permit for it.i've seen sport court for sale on craigslist, but all the websites i google seem to want to call you to discuss pricing rather than give you per sq ft costs up front. any ideas on good places to get this sorta budget like? thanks. I remember they had the ad for JP Igloo in there forever.http://www.rinkmagazine.com/rinknet/This looks like a great start, thanks! The other suggestions about placing and ad/or looking in the areas of interest are good for someone who already has a few preferred locations in mind, but we are looking at it from another perspective. We want to find the right business/rink first and see if we like the geographic location...

I know they had severe financial problems with that place going back to a year or so after they opened. A few weeks ago I was talking to a couple of guys at stick and puck who are more familiar with the situation than I am, and they were fairly certain it was stil for sale. Of course this is all speculation, so take it for what it's worth Off topic, but how's your season going over at Alpine???
