He was actually hospitalized for awhile after that - and missed the rest of the season, as well as the entire next one, I believe. He had some emotional issues that were never really discussed in detail.

Unfortunately, Tyler has been in and out of the lineup ever since hes been a Gopher. He has always had a tremendous upside as a player, but deals with a lot of issues at and away from the rink. Like LKPT said, the issues he dealt with that season werent discussed in detail, but were very significant.

Tyler retrurned to the Gophers this year. At one point he was academically ineligable, then a work-ethic related issue kept him out of the lineup. It was said that when 5 of the Gophers left for Sweeden, the first game without them he showed no interest in the game at hand and was benched again. Finally Tyler was "let go" by the Gophers for undisclosed reasons.

Kyle Okposso actually dates his sister. Thaaaaaats gotta be kinda awkward.

What's sad is I'm a huge hockey fan, went to the U of M for 3 years (including two years where they won the NCAA and rioted and burned the town), and still haven't been to a Gophers game.

If i remember correctly, that was after a loss in the WCHA final five tournament. For the gophers it didnt mean a whole lot because they were already a sure in for the NCAA's. Ultimately, that was the begining of the end for Tyler.
