2007 Easton blades?

Recommended Posts

I told them it did not make any sense to make a short-hoseled standard blade when their shafts are still the same length.

That truely does not make sense... I seriously don't think a couple inches will affect the kickpoint or the balance of a shaft either, unless they felt the 06 ST was too heavy, and decided to market a shorter hoseled standard to increase buying potential from consumers who think it is lighter than the previous model, not perceiving that a few inches have been taken off of it!

Anyways, about the Heatly pattern. You could always try an Iginla, the curve looks quite similar, the difference just being lie (5 going to a 5.5), and blade thickness, I don't see how that would effect much.

I like the yellow though...

opus, to be honest I'm not sure, but I know that Bauer hasn't included a butt end with their sticks for quite some time now, and no butt end was pictured. Also, considering the standard Easton shaft is 48" (or 47.5") these sticks would still be longer if a 3" plug is included. They'll be around in the spring for you to check them out.

thanks, will do . ditto the tps. i love the idea of the heatley in a short hosel, its just the shaft issue, obviously. if i can find a standard shaft i really like thats long enough i might end up really liking the change - i just dont see why they didnt either make a longer shaft or just make it tapered.

i also wouldve thought the heatley made enough of a positve impression sales wise to warrant being available in other blades. i see alot more heatleys than i do yzerman/gaboriks. lidstroms too for that matter.

i wish the z-carbon had a shorter hosel. I like short hosel blades. Maybe Easton could come out with an option inhosel length for a popular blade like CCM'S v20/v40.

It'd make it hard for them to have the focus flex in there, which is useless enough and should be gone anyway. I like how they have blades to match the Synthesis grip now that it's obsolete.

The only thing that the focus flex is good for is that it might add some structural integrity to the hosel, which wouldn't be needed if it had a short hosel.

Quick question, Does Easton offer ABS blade? I'm missing street hockey :(

Sorry to digress here...but blueliner...is that you in the avatar? That cracks me up...it looks like you're sitting in front of a computer with your lid and a jersey on

Oddly enough that's where any/all of mine snapped. That's the one piece of equipment I'd say where pro models are infinitely better than retail.

Isn't that one of the advantages of having a short hosel? Instead of having the weight of the hosel for those couple of inches, you have the weight of the shaft instead.

ODP is definatley right with that one. That's why the make the short hoseled blades so it can keep the balance of the stick intact and to keep the kickpoint as low as possible.

I know that, but to sacrifice the ability to get a long enough standard shaft for the trade off of a little weight and balence doesn't make sense, until you actualy come out with longer shafts at the same time.

Yeah, that's me. But I was not on Computer. I was interviewing and my bro took pics. I wore that Canucks jersey for practice.

Had to bring this up as it occurred to me while at a hockey shop yesterday. That ST2 looks shorter than both the V40, 5k, and 3k blades in terms of hosel length. JR, any comments?

Can't wait to answer these 2: No Yzerman this year for blades? Still no Gaborik?

Will the new ST blade be like the blade on the ST OPS or like the thick chunky one on the current ST replacement blade?

They are built the same as the current ST replacement blade with the exception that they are short hosel and yellow

I actually use the RBK 5K/CCM 6.0 in my Ultra Lite and it works great. I did have to but a butt end and cut it to satisfy my length but it does work our well.

The new Synergy St short hosel blades are now available from Easton. My rep sent me a form to place a fill-in order. I ordered Sakic, Forsberg, and Heatley since all of last year's stock is long gone. I'll need to stock up on longer butt-ends, too!! I was surprised to see Easton say they had these blades ready to go retail already.

We got a few of the new ST's as well. Tried to order the CNT focus flex but if you couldnt tell their b/o till august and we'll have our booking orders long before then! A few customers have bought the new ST and they also bought a new butt end. I think for every ST blade we order we'll have to order a butt end as well.
