wow i hope that goalie gets benched... why the hell are you sitting in the crease watching it bounce... no excuse...

Get benched for an unlucky bounce, one unlucky goal? Hate to have you as my coach.

yeah, i think he should have been yanked... lazy lazy lazy play, not unlucky... unlucky might be if the puck came off a seam in the glass or if he came out to play it and it bounced over his stick... that was him sitting there saying i hope this hits me in the chest or the pads because i'm not a division one goalie for the best team in the country who knows better and should have come out my freaking net to play the puck! if i were the coach, i'd yank him, rip him a new one, tell him he's going back in to start the next period, and if he doesn't wake the F up and get in there and do something to redeem himself, then he's going to play for the womens jv team for the rest of the year.

Haha before heading off to the NDTP team, Jeff played in my youth system. Lazy is a pretty good way to describe him.. for the most part. He has been in trouble this and last season for not giving enough effort.

As a coach(just a beginner team) and a former goalie(now I'm a forward) I don't think that's the way to handle it. I've seen a few softies on my goalie and have had a few on myself. I know that we beat ourselves up for stuff like that. I'd give him that "look" and pat him on the head. It shouldn't have happened, but I promise you that he won't let it happen again.

Confidence is everything, a goalie that isn't confident isn't going to win. As a coach you should show confidence in your goalie... to a degree. If I was in their situation I'd probably sit him the next game. The point being that I trust him to get himself out of the situation but that he can be replaced if he gets lazy.

But that's just my opinion.

well the poster above said that he knows the goalie and he is lazy. that, and the fact that however it was handled, it clearly didnt work since they ended up losing 7-3... there isn't necessarily a right way or a wrong way, and it depends on the situation and the player... i'm just saying how i might handle it...

Olympic sized sheet.

There are only a handful of D-I schools that skate on International-sized rinks (UNH comes to mind). I think there are more in D-III...I know I've played in a bunch of D-III barns that have the extra room.

geez, minnesota's rink is big

Oh, the things huge. The section championships are there for our section every year, and it feels like youre playing on the open pond. I hate it.

Dont get me wrong Snake, Jeff is good. He works hard at times, but it just seems like he turns that on and off. Obviously there is a reason he was asked to play for a)US NDTP B)U of M and c)USA's WJC team.

as was I. I'm not outright saying you're wrong, just disagreeing with how you'd handle it. :)

lol i think it's pretty clear anyone that has gone that far has a pretty large amount of talent. i honestly don't follow wcha, and i was more disappointed with the play of jeff zatkoff at the wjc's, as i went to Miami where he has been doing pretty stellar... just looking at the clip, he obviously wasn't focused at that exact moment for whatever reason, and if i was behind the bench in an important game with my team ahead by one, and my goalie let in that, i think my head might have exploded...

wow, ND dominating the #1 team.

tough break for the goalie. im definitely not a goalie, but that looked misplayed on his part.

#3 as of today, Maine drops all the way to 9th(wow they are sucking it up)
