mack 44 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 If it doesn't show up, Easton will more than likely take care of you. In the Synthesis drive my stick never showed up and Guru sent me out two as replacements. Classy move but yeah, the altruism is supposed to be the 'benefit.' TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 I was going to participate but I felt guilty because I really wouldn't donate $75 worth of anything to charity(because I really can't spare that money right now) and would only be doing it to get something back. Although it was a great deal, I felt guilty... Maybe I'll be able to donate some time next year and won't feel guilty about donating $75 in toys.I know that it's even almost selfish to have not donated the toys because of it but I would have felt guilty to use the stick and would have felt worse if I would have sold it. :(P.S. No offense to anyone that did the toy drive. I was just in limbo about it.
mack 44 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 No worries on that, even I spend Thanksgiving forking out food the most foul-smelling hobos around. Even when it's not court-ordered.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 When I was younger my mom and I used to volunteer some but since I got older I have really gotten out of helping out the community. I almost immediately jumped in on this but I thought about how selfish it was; since I haven't really done anything big(I give a few dollars here and there but nothing close to $75) in years and I was only considering it because I'd get something back. Then I thought well if I don't then these kids won't get my $75 worth of toys... In the end I decided to use my spare "hockey money" that I set aside to buy equipment if something breaks or I just want something new but at that point I was too late. I still think I would have felt guilty using it though.
mack 44 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 You're quite possibly more Catholic than I am or you at least should be. Maybe there's the tinge of guilt for doing something but getting something back for it, but unless you stole the toys I don't see how guilt should be anything long-lasting. TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 haha not catholic but I see what you're saying. It's irrational but it is what it is.

NorthStar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 The box they ship the stick in is huge, it would be really hard to loose it.
Miike 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 Plus, is it not coming from the USA? and you are in Canada? That could be your problem...
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 I'm still waiting on mine. A little worried, but have confidence it'll be dealt with.I also waver a little on the Toy drive. I usually donate money to charity's at X-mas, but not as much as the toy drive asks. So I'll upgrade it when they offer it, but it's definatelt their incentive that pushes me over the edge. I look at it as a win-win, but do reconsider it everytime it's offered and evaluate my morals.
Michael9 57 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 i'm in canada, but my stick is getting shipped to a relatives in VT. The lady on the phone called my on the 17th and told me my stick had been shipped.
phshockey53 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 still haven't gotten mine. i received my stealth on January 18th last time and i thought i was one of the last to get it. One thing i notcied is that with the stealth, it was released to the public around thanksgiving meaning they already had been making them for awhile, but the SE was practically unheard of by anyone when the toydrive was announced. Easton is probably making sticks as quickly as they can to get out to stores so they actually make money... so i'm sure sticks will be a little later than in the past. I'll let you know when i get mine. Also, GURU sais they were giving out 5 pairs of stealth skates and as far as i know nobody has received any yet, which may increase my chance of getting them... wouldn't that be sweet! KYHockey3 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 The box they ship the stick in is huge, it would be really hard to loose it.i thought that too, untill i bought a stick in chicago, and on the flight back they overlooked it and left it in the cargo area of the plane! mack 44 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 I'm just pointing out that this was about an Easton box and how obscenely large they are. She's just going off on a tangent as usual, so I had to humour it.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 dammit, I always forget that she's a "she" that has nothing to do with what you said or this thread but... yeah. I vote for the avatar of the skates with the pink laces to make a return!
