Top 20 Goals of All Time

Recommended Posts

I disagree with more than half the goals in that top 20, and no way Malik's goal is the best of all time.

Malik's shouldn't have even been in the top 20, let alone #1.

I think if Ovy or Bure did it it probably would belong in 15-20, but the fact that he is a big goofy stone-hand defensman makes me think 5 TOPS

Shootout goals deserve a special category, with Malik topping Datsyuk for the top two.

Yzerman's goal at #20 is one of the top goals I've ever seen. Factoring the beauty of the goal, the fact it was an OT playoff game (if I remember correctly) and the skill of the goal it has to be in the top few.

The video was made before he scored that goal.

Considering that Ovechkin's goal from later in that season was included at #3, I find that hard to believe.

touche, I looked at the dates incorrectly.

There some goals in this montage that should have been there..

I say a goalie without a mask is just about as solid as having Ron Tugnutt in net, actualy make that Stephane Fiset

Shootout goals shouldn't be part of the All-Time goals, and if they did, there was one by the rookie last year who started 8 for 8 that seemed more impressive. If I remember correctly, he passed the goalie on the right, yet let the puck trail, then reached out to the center of the crease to knock in the puck.

That said, how could one of the Top 3 most famous goals in history not be included? I understand that it was the trip afterward that made it famous, but it did win the B's first Stanley Cup in 29 years.

Have to agree with Chadd on the Yzerman slapper. Not exactly the flashiest of goals, but it meant a ton. Wish i could pick a corner like that.

I just thought of another goal that stands out, both for the skill and the importance. If my memory is correct it happened in the playoffs before the lockout, Game 7 of the first round. Vancouver was down by a goal and Naslund went virtually coast-to-coast in less than ten seconds to roof it (I think) with about a second left. It was an incredible effort on his part.

Unfortunately, the other team scored about a minute into OT, so the end of the game wasn't quite as dramatic as the end of regulation.

Anybody see Havlats goal today? WOW :o

Good thing he got hooked as hard as he did, otherwise he never scores it. Really good reaction in the situation though.
