Does Floyd have a pickle up his butt, or is he thinking of the fact that there were dozens of kids, mothers and grandmothers in attendance? It was a classless thing to do, regardless of how much he "had enough of those refs", and pretty much makes his organization look terrible. As a player you are held to a higher standard by being on that side of the glass. I hope the authorities charge him fully and force him to have to fly out to Utah again to pay his way out of this.

Kids, mothers, and grandmothers have all seen an ass before. Calm down. If that's the most morally questionable, dangerous or criminal act that ever takes place on a hockey rink, we don't have much to worry about. Of course it was stupid, but nobody got hurt, and in the end, it was just some kid in college pulling his pants down. I am quite sure the police, and the legal system have bigger fish to fry than this.

Classless, the vast majority of ACHA teams conduct themselves much better than this. What comes around goes around though, if an organization as a whole shows no class, teams won't schedule them and won't vote for them in the rankings.

Perhaps I should explain my comment because it is directed to the commentary not the act.

Certainly Meyer's act is classless, immature and disrespectful. USC would be justified in throwing his butt off of the team, whether or not the State of Utah decides to prosecute.

Floyd the rink manager said "we try to do what we can to protect ourselves.†What on earth can arena management do to protect themselves? It struck me as an inane comment and still does.

With the litigious society we live in, the rink should do everything they can to make it well-known they don't approve of this. Also realize the quote is probably out of context.

If they don't press charges, then it will go by as "Haha, that was pretty funny, the USC goalie dropped his pants to the crowd and only got thrown out of the game". Pressing charges will remind players that they aren't above standards simply because they are on the playing surface, but rather held to a higher standard. A couple thousand in court fees and a few hundred dollar fine (reality is that's all he will get, and a kid playing hockey at USC can easily have his parents buy his way out of that one) won't mean much to the kid, but to everyone else it's a reminder that there are ramifications.

Word is that the USC administration will come down on the team pretty heavily as well, if for nothing else the fact that it made ESPN's front page. Athletic directors tend to get pretty pissed when a club team gains negative press with the school name.

i didnt know BYU was such a powerhouse

We don't do too bad for a d2 acha team.

Look out for next year, we have a few good players that are coming over from some highschool teams. It's the first year that I wish I was good enough to make the cut.

Maybe it was all planned by USC administration to get the Reggie Bush ordeal off the front pages. "Hey let's throw the hockey goalie under the bus, nobody at school here cares about those guys!" :P

All of you who aren't in an organization who are criticizing this guy are WAY WAY WAY to PC for your own good. Does a little dudeity scare you?

From my perspective though, this is an awful thing for any player to do. When you wear that jersey (weather it's in prep school, junior, college, pro), there's an unwritten agreement that you're not going to bring dishonor to the program. However, it's not like the school is doing much for him anyways as it's a D2 club program, so it's not like there's going to be hell to pay, unless USC drops their club hockey team.
