Adult Leagues/Drop-in in Metro Detroit

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for someplace to pick up some extra ice in the Metro Detroit area. Currently I'm playing pickup once a week but would like to find a few new spots where there's a bit more competition. If anyone knows of any ice i would appreciate a heads up.

I apologize if this is a repost, if there is a related thread already started on this subject please just let me know.

Thanks, I will check it out.

Quick question...do you know how what kind of showing they get as far as number of skaters and pace of play is? I am by no means an allstar but I can play and am looking for something with a younger group of people who know the game, play with their heads up and move the puck.

Thanks again

Most of the drop-in guys at Suburban are beginner level, there are a couple ringers that show up with a ton of patience. But, what do you want for $8.00 for an hour and a half? :)

Most weeks there's about 3 people on the bench so there's some room. I won't be there this weekend but, possibly next. PM me if you decide to go.

Novi Ice Arena, Wed and Sat 10pm. $8 for 1.5 hrs.

The skate is at a pretty good pace - good mix of talent. Plus the sharpening is amazing in the proshop

Arctic pond in Plymouth has a good drop in at 12:00 noon on Tuesday and Thursday. The pace is as good as I've ever seen at a drop in. Garden City has it at 11:00 am Mon Wed Fri, most the guys are loder, but pretty good. DAMN I hate having a day job again!

Everyone... thank's for the heads up I'm gonna try and make it out to a couple of these next week. It seems like the real good skates are always in the middle of the day... sucks to have a day job.

middle of the day is everywhere. It pays to be a famous ex NHLer or something along those lines and get 2 hour lunch breaks..cuz nowadays I never get any ice time, but back when I was younger and working retail, I could play the 11-2pm ice times and go up against guys like Reed Larson or Bill Butters. I still remember the time I parked myself in front of net during a drop in game when Larson was playing..I didnt do it again.

Thats a pretty good skate, I've made it out there a few times, although you can get some idiots out there sometimes.

i was a student there... graduated in '02. I'm just living in the royal oak area looking to start playing more hockey since i've been relegated to skating only once a week the past couple years.
