Sher-wood Curves

Recommended Posts

Can we just have a pinned topic of what every brand's equivalent is to the Drury? There appears to be a new topic on here every day asking "What's the Sher-Wood/Warrior/Bauer/CCM/Mylec/Franklin/Koho/Torspo/Chimo/Northland equivalent of the Drury?"

... Not to mention that we have this thing.

we sould all help out an give pics of the curves to the mods so we actually have a reference picture.

what we should do is come up with a graph that shows clones of the curves so that people that don't understand the pattern db lingo(Mid Moderate 1/2" Neutral Medium 6 Round) can find their blade clones.

Problem is that the names change a lot... and the wood blade issue with curves.

You wouldn't have to understand the lingo - you can just find the one you like, and enter the same specs in the pattern db search, and then the similar patterns would come up. You don't have to know what the terms mean to understand that the characteristics would be similar.

... Also, who doesn't understand those terms? They all seem pretty self-explanitory, and if you don't have the knowledge to know what those things are, you probably don't know what you're looking for in a stick, or care/know the difference from one stick to the next anyway.

talk to all the guys that post threads like this... actually it's kind of hard to find clones because some patterns are different but very slightly and it doesn't show on a pattern db.

And then some people complain that virtually identical curves are 1 degree more open and it's therefore not a clone. I've accepted the fact that everyone isn't going to be happy and we're not going to implement every suggestion in an effort to make everyone happy. Especially things that are going to make things more complex and convoluted.

Touche. Guess at this point we should be used to the "what's a _____ clone?" or "what's similar to a _____?" threads.

didn't want to start a new topic for this. i see that crosby's lie is 6 on sherwood's website, but i see it as 5 on most other websites. what is it?

also, are the rm7 and rm9 blades taper fit? i really liked my old spezza blade before i cracked it, and wouldn't mind getting another.

Yes it used to be a nice Drury type, albeit w/a 5 lie. Now it's a Sakicish blade, and like I said it even has "SA" under Crosby's name...

Thats pretty funny. I think company's are starting to realize how many people actually use the sakic blade. I grew up using it and have tried other blades but just can shoot the same with any other. Is there going to be two different Crosby this year cause i know there is going to be one in rbk. how similar are they?

Which sher-wood curve would be close to a Easton Forsberg and Bauer PM9???

Bouchard MO - same curve and lie, but the blade is wider (top to bottom) than Easton or Bauer.

Anyone know what the closest retail curve is to a pro stock Crosby curve ?

Nothing is remotely close, Modano is the best you're going to be able to do.
