new style shoulder pads

I was there when my LHS was pulling these out of the box last friday.. Comfortable for sure. There has been some rumblings of durability issues from employees that worked their and had already tried them.

I have seen some people in the qmjhl using them, they look really bizare to be a hockey shoulder pad.

As I've said in the other topics about them, good idea but they need to refine the design. As it is now, I think they are a danger to the wearer and others.

these pads are pretty sweet actually. i went to northeastern university, and a bunch of the players there loved them. as for shoulder protection, you can place pads where ever on the base itself. if you want huge pads on your shoulders, you can put them there. if you want more padding on the low back, you can put on plastic inserts.

i'm also a little biased, since i know a guy that works for the company. but, they are comfy.

When I got a tour of Boston College's locker room, all of the players had them, and I have tried them on at my LHS and they are comfortable but idk about the safety

I would imagine that the size of the little squares and due to the movement that the glue holding them on probably means that the little squares will fall off here and there more often than the company would like to admit (as I doubt they sew each of those on).

looks like TPS executed that style better. It looks a hell of a lot more durable and protective. IMO.

What kind of company uses "Tear away, good for fights " as a marketing point? They look like the little squares would shift around on the pad and leave you opef for some pain

Doesn't AK27 play for the Maineiacs? If so, that team seems to wear those more than anyone else. Hopefully he will have some opinions.
