Old Rangers Player

I was talking to a buddy the other day and we were talking about the Rangers and how they have to go 30-0 in the next 15 games to get in. Some way the conversation got into some player (which we could not remember). I believe he was Russian (maybe not though). He was suppose to be great. He played for the rangers for a bit (I believe) in the 90s and then quit the team because he wanted to act or something like that. Ring a bell? This is all the information I remember.

Yeah it was Daigle, funny story about him. One time after he got picked up by the Rangers, I asked him to sign a hockey card. It was from his days on the Lightning. He goes I'm really sorry but I can't sign this it brings back bad memories that I had in Tampa.

Any time I hear Daigle's name I think about his great quote the year (1993?) he was drafted overall #1 by Ottawa- "Nobody remembers number two" ..

Now Daigle can't find the NHL with a map and compass.

Number 2 that year? He's still playing. A gangly defenseman you may have heard of- Chris Pronger

I've seen Daigle's dives and whoever talked him into acting (probably Pam Anderson) should get an oscar.

Yeah,

I guess he is doing pretty well over there (Switzerland). That guy was scary fast, a shame he didn't really have that drive to be a better player.

-A side note-I think he was trying to be a producer or something while he was out an LA (translation-he was getting laid Left & Right)
