biff44 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I used on when I was rehabing an arm. They do work, and offer a surprising amount of resistance. I am not sure how I could train those same muscles with only free weights. It is a weird twisting motion to the forearm. On the other hand, I am not sure those are the muscles you need while shooting!
dangler08 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I'm pretty sure some wrist curls and extensions will help my shot just as much but i was thinking about how it would work for other sports like badminton or ping pong.(Yes I play alot of pong)

Tbaby 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 ConsI got one there overated and there are cheaper things that work just as well.ProsFun to use and when you have friends over you can try and beat each others scores more of a game than a exercise tool but im sure if you used it frequently you would see an improvement in your strength. Alias81 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 They are suprisingly good IMO they offer variable resistance depending on how much you turn it etc. and also there aren't many ways to execise all the muscles they train in 1 single way like it does.
Konig von Kuhlem 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2007 Yep, they do work. This thread made me get one and now my forearm is numb.

Alias81 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2007 I used to play alot of soccer and grip strength doesn't really mean much TBH. I only asked why as it seems most other sports would benifit alot more then a soccer goalie in terms of this product.

habookus 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I just got one of these from my friend, and its awesome. You really get your forearms burning. Quick question tho; I recently got shoulder surgery and was wondering if the powerball affected the shoulder muscles, or if it just hit the lower arm muscles. Besides that it is a great exercise tool for hockey.
mxihockey 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I want to get one of these, any suggestions on which model to get?
swede 50 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 That thing is like marathon training for your forearms. I rather put my money on a few COC grippers instead...
Deathmoves 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I used this after i broke my wrist twice this season. And was told i would not gain full mobility in my wrist eva again. FAR BETTER THAN THE REHAB THE DOCTER WAS GIVING ME! Its fun to use and its a good workout too. I now have full mobility in my wrist and am almost 100% pain free. (I broke my Scaphoid and Radius.) hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 That thing is like marathon training for your forearms. I rather put my money on a few COC grippers instead...But if you only do 5 reps at a time it doesn't burn as much as the powerball....
