Power Ball

Recommended Posts

I used on when I was rehabing an arm.

They do work, and offer a surprising amount of resistance. I am not sure how I could train those same muscles with only free weights. It is a weird twisting motion to the forearm. On the other hand, I am not sure those are the muscles you need while shooting!

I'm pretty sure some wrist curls and extensions will help my shot just as much but i was thinking about how it would work for other sports like badminton or ping pong.(Yes I play alot of pong)

Cons

I got one there overated and there are cheaper things that work just as well.

Pros

Fun to use and when you have friends over you can try and beat each others scores more of a game than a exercise tool but im sure if you used it frequently you would see an improvement in your strength.

They are suprisingly good IMO they offer variable resistance depending on how much you turn it etc. and also there aren't many ways to execise all the muscles they train in 1 single way like it does.

Probably good for soccer goalies... maybe hockey ones too?

Why would it be good for soccer goalies?

Grip strength? Shoulders and arms for those long throws?

Wrists strength when stopping shots too.(not bending wrists)

I used to play alot of soccer and grip strength doesn't really mean much TBH. I only asked why as it seems most other sports would benifit alot more then a soccer goalie in terms of this product.

Oh I have a few friends that are premier/provincial and one time they were talking about wrist strength training so i thought this might help, maybe not

I just got one of these from my friend, and its awesome. You really get your forearms burning. Quick question tho; I recently got shoulder surgery and was wondering if the powerball affected the shoulder muscles, or if it just hit the lower arm muscles. Besides that it is a great exercise tool for hockey.

That thing is like marathon training for your forearms. I rather put my money on a few COC grippers instead...

I used this after i broke my wrist twice this season. And was told i would not gain full mobility in my wrist eva again. FAR BETTER THAN THE REHAB THE DOCTER WAS GIVING ME! Its fun to use and its a good workout too.

I now have full mobility in my wrist and am almost 100% pain free.

(I broke my Scaphoid and Radius.)

But if you only do 5 reps at a time it doesn't burn as much as the powerball....
