So I bought a new pair of skates..

Recommended Posts

I bought a new pair of Graf skates online in a 9.5R and I wear 11.5-12 in shoes and 11 in mission skates regularly.

I know a lot of you work in pro shops now or in the past, do you think these will fit my feet?

Are you saying that you have not tried these on??

I bought them online but the online retailer has an outlet about half an hour from my house so if they don't fit right it shouldn't be an issue taking them back.

One other question, I got the Graf 735s with the T-blades... if these fit by some minor miracle, how good are they?

I play roller mainly but I want to start playing ice more.

If they don't fit can you try on other skates at the Outlet store?

Yeah, it's hockey monkey so if they don't fit I'll just go down there and try some new ones on. I figured if I went by the size chart I might have a chance because they compared 11s in Mission to 9.5s in Graf

I have had them since June and I love them. Very Comfortable right from the start. Doesn't seem to be any breakdown in the boot yet.

Oh ya, I wear a 10.5-11 shoe and mine are a size 9 skate (Graf 735).

Sounds like there is a chance it will fit then.

What you must realize is that the correlation between skates and shoe size can be invalid because some people wear their shoes a little bigger. Based on your shoes fitting correctly, that size won't work for you. Also keep in mind that shoe sizing between brands vary.

This is definately a factor. I wear a size 9 in Converse but an 11 in most others.

Exactly. Not only do people like their skates to fit a certain tightness or looseness but they also do the same when it comes to shoes. With shoes people often get too large and with different shoes the sizing may vary. I can tell you a nike 13 fits me fine, in some asics a 13 works, in new balance i'm like a 13 1/2 and with adidas and some rbks I wear 14. YET some people say that Nike runs small!!! So if you consider that some people like loose shoes and most wnat tight skates you might be looking at 2-2 1/2 sizing difference!

This is why you want to go to a LHS and buy skates that you KNOW will fit.

you must also understand that all graf models fit differently, so they might not fit your foot properly even if the length is alright, you should always try skates on before buying them, especially with grafs

They're a little snug but they fit ok... my feet don't touch the end but they're nice and tight throughout the end of my foot.

The chart on hockeymonkey still has missions fitting like your regular shoesize, which I don't believe is the case anymore (I could be wrong, so will defer to the knowers of things), so that may not be the best chart to go by

I wear an 11 or 11.5 in most shoes and my Wicked 1s are 11.

The Grafs in 9.5 are fine but they're a little narrow so I might end up getting something a little wider, I haven't decided yet.
