Lace Question

How often do you guys change out your laces on your skates? Just looking to see what people on here do. I know its all PP but I was wondering.

When they look like they are ready to break. Every once in a while the urge strikes me and I'll throw black laces on for a while, but I won't toss the white laces unless they look about to break.

Ive got yellow waxed laces and because of the snow/water that gets absorbed in the bottom half of the laces, they get really dirty and heavy so i usually change them then.

When they lose the wax and are feeling "not so fresh". So about every 6 months or so.

After the third break. LOL It's much harder to knot and loosen at that point. I've got 2 pairs of skate with broken and knotted laces. I guess I just get lazy once I'm home, and forget to get back to them. They are difficult to get my foot in.

I'm going to get off here right now to change them. Thanks for the reminder guys.LOL

Not totally related, but 2 lace threads seems unnecessary. For those who have CCM/RBK skates with Lace Locks...do you use Waxed Laces?

I haven't used waxed since I got my Vectors...I used them on my old Tacks.

I wear the 9k's and they just seem to hold better at the top eyelets.

I do i use yellow waxed laces on my vectors plus skate lock, does the trick and locks the waxed laces even better!! :D

I haven't used waxed since I got my Vectors...I used them on my old Tacks.

I tried a pair from epuck.com and they had so much wax on them they were unusable. You would need pliers to tighten them. So, I have been sticking with unwaxed versions on my 6.0s.

Yup...got those. :D And yes...they do look good. Make me skate faster too <_<
