Pros vs. Joes

What do you think of the Pros vs. Joes TV show? I actually like it. Are Fuhr and Claude Lemieux the only hockey guys?

I could easily see Brett Hull or Jeremy Roenick on that show. The need to get a couple of Joes who can actually stand up on skates though.

i like the show.

I've only seen Fuhr. The first challenge was basically Fuhr shooting and the Joes trying to stop the puck. In the final challenge they had to score on Fuhr from the low slot.

The one hockey event I saw had Claude Lemieux battling in the corner for a puck and trying to wraparound score on an empty net. He crosschecked this one dude who talked a lot of smack. Overall it was kind of lame and he owned all three Joes in that battle.

In that episode with the swimmer was it just me or did they put on figure skates? or were they just those old hockey hockeys skates that look like figure skates without picks?

I think a couple of them were using figure skates. I remember laughing at it... it's been a few months since I've seen it, I'm amazed I remember that much.

One of them had a good 'ol brain bucket too ;)

Show is cool, but it shows exactly where hockey ranks among most Americans. Everyone on there plays football, basketball, and baseball, but none of them can skate.

I like the guy who took 10 minutes to shoot in 5 pucks with no goalie while wearing figure skates.

I was hoping for more hockey when they had Boston Joes against New York pros, but that didn't happen. Messier would have been good on that one.

If I was to go on that show I'd do well in hockey and any of the fitness ones. I'd be shameful in basketball and football. Maybe I could compete in baseball fielding but not hitting or pitching (unfortunately). Based on that I don't think I'd make the cut.

The shows is decent but it is annoying that they Pros are "fixed" and lay up on the Joes. Personally, I would rather watch the Pros totally destroy the Joes as oppose to making the competition moderately close.

then you should like the baseball part because they give the pro pitcher the biggest strike zone in the history of the world. I've seen 3 balls called and two of them were behind the batter.

The Fuhr clip stops in the beginning of the 2nd goalie, is that just my computer or is the clip cut that way?

Btw Fuhr has a pretty good wrister.

Fuhr clip is great. The best is when you just assume somebody in goalie gear can skate...then they start penguin stepping to the cage and you're just like, "Ooohhhhhhhhhh..."

one of my good friends is a damn fine goalie and a fantastic skater... For some reason(this guy's a character) he just walked across the ice before a beer league game. He didn't say a word, just waddled across the ice to the bench to dump his extra stick(this literally took like a minute and a half). His entire team and the other team just stared at him, they didn't know what to think. What was even better was after he dumped his stuff he took a few quick laps and roofed a few pucks from the low slot with his goalie stick... the look on their faces was priceless.
