Good point Theo.

I just wish it won't start to be epedemic around the league.

This guy acted like a nutcase at times out there, sometimes for no reason at all.

Doesn't surprise me one bit

Agreed on his actions, but the juicing part comes as a surprise. I have no sympathy for this type of crap. Bring the book on him...hard.

20 games... good. He should also be subject to random drug tests(at his expense) every two weeks for the rest of his career.

I have no tolerance for this stuff, it doesn't belong in sports.

does 20 games keep him out of the rest of their games this year? if so, does it carry over till next year?

Yup, it'll carry into next season, considering the Isles are done.

I didn't see anywhere in the article where it said the Leafs are filling a complaint. Maybe I mis-read it but it seemed like an opinion piece that mentioned the Leafs should be pissed.

The NHL isn't releasing when the test was done (likely to prevent the Leafs from coming after them) so I can't see how they can file a complaint. Daly was extremely vague yesterday and pretty baffled when Dreger was getting on him about the potential problems this situation has caused.

I disagree with the Leafs reasons for throwing a fit. Tons of other teams that the Isles played would also be ticked off too. But these tests are also random, are they not? So if there were performed randomly, there's no politicking or intent to give anyone an advantage

I can't understand how a team could make a case for "we didn't make the playoffs because of one guy." It's an 82 game season and it's Sean Hill not Mario Lemieux.

If he failed the test before the end of the regular season, it's an interesting issue to discuss.

Exactly right, all it would've taken is 1 less point from ANY of the teams and the Leafs would've been in. Possibly the Habs as well. It's unknown when the test was done, and there was not politics involved, but he tested positive before he was suspended. The NHL went to the PA, who conferred with Hill, who then re-tested on an appeal, after getting court approval, and was then suspended after failing a re-test.

He isn't a superstar, but he was on their shutdown pairing with Witt who was noticeably weaker last night without Hill. The two were also used to shut down Sundin's line. It'd be interesting to know when this happened. I personally don't think it would have made a difference, but I am curious on how long the appeal process is.

its a good thing that players get suspended, unlike theodore, who said he was taking something to keep his hair from falling...

It was probably just something left in his system from the parties in Madison.

That could be the case actully, they're absolutely crazy there...

IMO, It's a null issue, because most teams had to face him while he was juiced up. Not like it affected him just against one specific team

But even if that is the case if they would have lost more games they wouldn't have made the playoffs... And who would have filled that spot? I think your statement better proves their case.

All it would've taken was a win from Toronto and they would've been in. They had it in their hands and blew it. They have noone to blame.

...and all of those teams would've lost to Buffalo anyway.

There's a few tests done, I believe Theo only failed one of them, which is why his Rogaine story made sense.

This does not make sense.

It's their fault they aren't in, it was in their hands, but does Hill change the outcome? Does MTL beat them and get in? Do they lose the last game of the year (which was a SO win) to NJ? It's not a matter of who is out, but how they got in.

I think they should file a grievance with the Devils for starting their backup against the Isles during one of those last few games

What's this add to the thread?

Eazy...the test that Theo failed was during the Canadian Olympic tryouts...he was on the Original Summer roster of 50 (or whatever). He knew right from day 1 of the season that he would eventually fail that test, and applied for the medical exemptions necessary. I think Gainey, him, his agent and Dr. Mulder (Habs team Dr.) all knew it was coming. Actually, at the time, I really thoguth after the test was public, and it was off his mind, his play would imrpove...I guess I was wrong.

I don't think the substance in Propecia (the hair stuff) is on the NHL list, but it is on the WADA list...so even though he had no penalty in the NHL..he can't compete Internationally for 2 years or whatever.
