Anyone still make custom wood replacement blades?

Recommended Posts

I use a standard shaft (Warrior AK-27) and still prefer the feel of a wood blade. There used to be a few companies that custom-made wood blades, but i'm only aware of Balistik Hockey that does it, and i'm not even sure if I can order directly from them (don't know who their retailers are). Even looking at Mission's website doesn't show regular hosel wood replacement blades.

Anyone know of any companies that custom make woody blades? Easton, CCM and Sherwood still make blades (currently using Easton Pro wood blades), but anybody left? Since Mission is active on this board, I would like to throw them some custom blade orders if they could fill them..........

Rbk makes a nice wood replacement blade. You just send them a blade or stick with the curve you want on them and about four weeks later you have yourself some nice custom blades. They even do the custom carbon vector type blades as well.

A question regarding TPS. Is there a way to get pro stock tapered composite patterns off them?

Yes but they are switching to the long hosels so there may not be much left.

How...in the hell....does this differ from any other company making customs?

by long hosels do you mean a standard blade or a tapered blade similar to a dolomite tapered blade?

That's what I've been using for a while.

Seriously? Long hosel, not standard hosel.

Yeah, long tapers. Like the old T-flex.

Yeah, on my r8 you can see the fusepoint, and the blade is the same size as a standarb blade (z-carb for example). Sucks, because if you dont want to mess with the flex, your going to have to keep buying TPS blades.

Any idea what is driving this change?

Using a longer hosel on the same shaft can lengthen the taper.
