CCM vs. RBK OPS

Recommended Posts

if you say they mirror one another wouldnt that be just the looks? In my perspective I think they are different because rbk bought ccm and koho. Koho does make sticks too, so I think rbk used both ccm and kohos ways of making their sticks

No. The Vector sticks shafts are fused onto the blades by Layering. The Rbk sticks are just normal fusing the blades into the shaft with epoxy.

How do these different methods of construction affect performance?

Are there differences beyond the blade attachment or would the shafts be pretty much the same?

dont quote me but (if memory serves) RBK tends to have more rounded edges on the shaft then CCM. as for construction methods... the vector fuses the blade into the shaft to make a "true one piece" i believe, at least on the v10.0's. this allows a longer taper which to some is an advantage but others find durability issues.

the vectors have a contour shaft shape available(ex. 8.0C). Vectors also have a bladder mold system, which I don't believe the RBKs use(I could be wrong). Neither have a model that is a true-OPS, but because of the bladder mold of the Vectors; cutting the blade off to make a tapered shaft is extremely difficult.

My Sick-Kick shaft actually has a tiny little "Jofa" logo on the underside where the warranty info. is...

I thought that was odd...jus sayin...

Does this bladder molding make any difference in the performance?

they're comparable to many other sticks of the same caliber out there. The biggest difference between RBK and CCM is the blade, CCM makes better blades for whatever reason.
