Sher-Wood Gloves

Recommended Posts

So I bought Sherwood gloves online. The palms tore after not even 5 minutes of use in my living room. and Both the person I bought them from and sherwood won't deal with me. I hope sherwood goes out of business.

Username: drewmhna on ebay is a joke. Don't buy from him unless you want to start a Garbage dump in your backyard.

End.

I know a guy who went through a bunch of eclipse gloves when they came out. No pair held up for more than four games for him.

Don't know which gloves you bought, what condition, or whatever, so that's not my argument. But don't expect the company to want to deal with you after buying something off of eBay. I think most manufacturers would consider goods purchased on eBay to be either "used" or "seconds" regardless of actual sell condition since the product didn't come from an authorized dealer.

Were the gloves as described in the auction listing? If thats the case, and it's a manufacturers defect, he would have no liability to you.

And as you did not purchase from an authorized dealer, Sher-wood would have no obligations to you. In their eyes you purchased from a third party unlicensed vendor, so they can't vouch for the condition in which the gloves were received.

Thats one of the risks with e-bay.

But if it's a manufacturers problem you really shouldn't be blaming the seller for not wanting to refund you because he sold you an item, which you tore (regardless of whose fault it actually was)

Yeh I ditto pretty much all previous comments, eBay pretty much voids warrentys and I quote from Easton stick warrenty:

"Warrenty does not apply to third party auction sites such as eBay."

Different company and product I know, but it's all likley to be the same.

however I only won the auction off ebay, everything else was done over the phone through his store, since his account on ebay didn't work, also the product was New and from an Ebay store. somewhat turning it into an issue of warranty. So technically the goods did come from an authorized dealer.

Fortunately enough, the ebayer- is trying to resolve it, however I have currently pulled out my Compuware gloves (for the time being) and have found a place to get my actual Sherwood 9950's through.

What do manufacturers do with remaining stock when they discover a problem with a product? Land fill.....that would seem the best way to protect their name and not lose customers?

At least stamp SECOND inside the product to be fair to consumers, maybe X out their name.....we see that done with clothing. I haven't seen hockey gear identified as seconds, but I doubt its being disposed of instead of sold to us.

It's not a warranty issue if he is not an authorized dealer. If he bought a few pairs on closeout, the warranty would apply to him, if he got them new from a dealer.

If the warranty period is expired, he would have no recourse with Sher-wood, and because he is not an authorized dealer, neither would you as there is no way for them to vouch for where and when he got the gloves, and how long before they were sold, if this is even the first transaction of this new pair of gloves

If he bought it on eBay from a Sher-Wood authorized dealer, then the warranty is still valid. All the dealer has to do is get the gloves back and process an R/A for it.
