Best hockey training tool you've invested in.

Well i have 4. My first would be a steel hockey net I have. My second is a sheet of synthetic ice for shooting on my net. The third is the Kwik Hands system. The 4th is a pond. (this is all thanks to my parents.. :D ) (These are not in order of importance)

I bought a "WristWripper" about a year ago (cost me about $40). I attach a 10 lb weight to it.

Unbelievable how much it has helped. Probably added 10-15 mph on both my wrist shot and slapshot. Also allows me to make long passes much more effectively.

Hope it makes my stickhandling better

Not really a tool, but my backyard rink is my most important training tool. Invested alot of money in it but it was well worth it. I spend hours and hours just stickhandling and shooting on the thing. Heres a pic from last fall.

Michael9, it's YOUR rink, your municipality has nothing to do with it? How about that spotlight, you installed it on your own? What price range for all that wood ?

Yes it's my rink, The rink is on my property but I let some of my close firends come over and skate when they want. My grandfather and my father installeld the spotlight about 15 years ago since they used to play volleyball there sometimes. During the fall season, I call up around 3-4 friends to help me and my dad set the rink up. its takes about 2-3 hours to put the rink together and a little less to take it down. Each board costs around 40$-50$ and there are 26 boards., we replace boards when they need to be replace, which isn't very often. The plastic costs about 200$ to buy from a hardware store, but some of the local farmers give us some of there extra plastic they wrap hey with. That works very well and its gives it the very white color. The rink is taken down at the moment so I really can't get any more pics of it.

Edit- Found this pic. on my computer. You can see my shed and my house in this picture, as well as the rink.

Stickhandling board, Smarthockey ball, Fly-Puck, Agility Ladder

What he said.

Inline skates are good too (even though I hate them because I can't stop in them ...is there a thread for that?), because you can practice stickhandling while moving which is WAY important.
