Detroit Red Wings Equipment Sale

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know when the Red Wings might be having their end of season equipment sale? I looked on the website but could not find anything. Also for those that have gone to them in the past, do they usally have some good stuff? I'm looking to pick up some Easton gloves and maybe a helmet.

The fact that most of the stuff is going to be autographed, and sold as collectors pieces not "equipment" and being it is the Red Wings in general, expect to pay a ton! I'll bet the 9ko sticks will go for $500+

Hockeytown Authentics had unused sticks from a few guys for around $90, including Synergy SE, Supreme One90, etc

I'd suspect similar prices there

june 15 and 16

don't know if i'll be able to make it. I'm assuming its gonna be a mad house anyway.

Has anyone gone before?

I went two years ago. The prices are good, and there are lots of things there. The lines are pretty long, and they let people in in stages. Obviously its best to get their very early.

yea its quite a zoo down there but if you get there early and are one of the first in you can get some really nice stuff at pretty cheap price compared to retail prices

Anyone show up to this? Some nice deals there, some horrible ones too. I remember more stuff in years past. I ended up picking up a Lebda Vapor XXXX and a Quincey 9KO, before by budget went flaccid. They kept bringing up more stuff, anyone find any gems?

I only paid about $185 total for those two. The 9KO was $125, and the XXXX was $50...Lang's 9KO was $225 I think, and the Datsyuk was well over $300. There were quite a few people who picked up 4-6 9KO's...I haven't messed around with them too much, but the XXXX feels like a XXX Lite, wouldn't be surprised if that's what it actually is. Graphics are nice though, and the grip is the same as the ONE90. The shaft shape is the pro radius.

The 9KO feels great, too. Almost all of Quincey's were used sparingly and were by far the best deal at the sale. Interesting point though, there is a 30-day limited warranty on the back of the shaft, along with the serial number. No where on the shaft does it say that it's pro stock and void of warranty, so I wonder if the warranty could be applied, although the replacement would probably be a 7K.

If anyone picked up any of Schneider's nylon Eastons or any Bauer Supreme 4-rolls, I'd be happy to take them off your hands (no lame pun intended).

EDIT: Were any of Lidstrom's Easton buckets on sale?

he cuts holes on the very back, from the sole of the boot till roughly his achilles tendon (sp?) probally 1.5-2 inches wide through all the harder outer shell and just has the liner intact, if you push on it then you will see your finger under the liner on the inside of the boot, the strangest thing ive ever seen in a hockey skate.

Several Wings players have holes on the heels. I don't know why, but they have a Red Bull can-sized hole on the back of the skate.

thats wierd does anyone have pictures of this and/or of the sticks that you bought at the sale?

I'll try and upload some soon.

I didn't take a good look at the skates, but my buddy said it looked like something foreign had been removed from those skates in the heel. He seemed to think the boot had been cut and an external piece added, maybe to accomodate for a bone spur.
